I've been watching Space Academy again on DVD- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnAaMH5SzMA Little corny(especially the robot), but the effects are excellent considering this was a kid's show(mostly because the guys who did do the effects were also doing Star Wars at the time) Also have Ark II, and Jason Of Star Command. I loved watching these live-action Saturday Morning shows from Filmation as a kid. The intro reminded me of Space 1999. I have that as part of my collection. A very far out show! |

I saw Skyline. Intersting concepts, great spectial effects, and weak story. It was not the worst movie I have ever seen, but it was not great. I've been out of the loop for a bit. Anyone bummed that Caprica got can'd? Also, whats up with all the 2011 Sci Fi push in movies? There is Tron, Battlefield LA, Cowboys and Aliens, Source Code, and some cartoon movie. Jesus, I am not at all surprised that Caprica got canned. It took forever for some momentum to build up in the story. Caprica from my vantage point was not that bad and I will explain my case. Look at SG1, Babylon 5, Farscape, Star Trek TNG, and for that matter X-files. All those great long running Science Fiction shows had no momentum till season 2 or 3 of the show! After the re-boot of BSG everyone is up for fast instant gratification that they can enjoy with other shows currently on that already went through there rough first season. Perhaps that is why the crappy show SGU is still on. You can't tell me Firelfly was lacking in momentum, which was near a perfect show and canned in less than a season. It’s all about the money and not about content or pleasing the fans anymore. I was expecting to be disappointed with Caprica if I viewed them with my BSG goggles. It had a great amount of content to process, a great amount of drama, and no space action. With an open mind watching it, I realized the significance of the V world (what the cylons can still enter in BSG) and a further look at the division between Monotheism and Polytheism which was the same primary conflict in BSG. Caprica was best viewed as part of the big picture. I like that crappy SGU. I feel like shooting myself in the head when watching SGU, because it is so depressing to watch. Ok, I just miss Richard Dean Anderson at the helm! He lighted things up to a more enjoyable show. Once he backed out, SG1 well, was no were near as good. I did watch Avatar for the first time. Good movie with story and effects. It was a bit of a knock off from the Nox in SG1. Also, Avatar had concepts from James Cameron's earlier films like Terminator (the areal platforms) and Aliens (the walking machines and space craft). I did like that the story was broken into four sections and you could see characters develop throughout the movie. |

I relized that, well my Mazda is not worth wasting money to get to move faster and I will not spend another dime other than regualar maintance.
A couple years down from now, I might look into getting some used american muscle and strip it down (weight wise as much as I can). Sofar a fox body mustang or a camaro from that same time frame will be to two I will look at. I will strongly consder the used imports like the M3 the 350Z and the 3000GT. Something that is rear wheel drive with at least V6 or bigger. This would be my personal vehicle to drive in middle of no where USA, but not an every day drive. Thanks for the advise to all that inputed in this post. It has been helpfull, and I know now that your trying to point me in the better path shedding light on my ignorance of the matter. I still like to drive fast, when it is appropriate. I just started changing my own oil. So it is a start. No Drag strips and street races where ever in my field of view. Just a fun ride to blow off steam! |

(((Moe))) So, I'm finishing up season 6 of Lost and I will start on V. They have it on instant play on Netflix. Anyone seen it? I'm talking about the recent TV series...not the older one. V is a well written show, largely due to the break they were force on because of the Olympics. This time allowed the writers to put out a better product, but the four months of no V caused the people who watched the first four episodes loose interest. It does not mean that the show became less interesting due to being a bad show, it was simply poor timing by the network, like Firefly, Jeremiah, Space Above and Beyond, Brisco County Jr. and all those other shows that didn't last but a season aswell. |

I do not doubt you at all. I have not been on, because I started classes again after a four month break. Working full time + Going to School full time = much less free time. Lets just say I am enjoying my Thanksgiving weekend with days off from work and school till Monday!! Sofar I did Laundry and watched the last episode of Firefly. Tomorow I get to stuff my face! Sounds wonderful! The eating, I mean. I'm sorry you have been so busy, but I'm sure, in some ways, that's a good thing. Having a job and going to school are GOOD! Indeed! Hope your get to enjoy your time off and some eats aswell! |

I love karaoke! The first few times I went, I sucked so bad that I'm surprised that I ever did it again.. but once I got comfortable, it got so much easier, and BOY did I get better! It is an aquired taste for sure! I still don't hit all the que's to the songs I sing. Its all in fun, and I usually get the completments after singing a song I felt I screwed up on.... go figure? |

I am drinking beer now. When I go solo, I drink one when I get to the bar with some food. Sofar I have tried, Bud, Miller Light, Guiness, Carona, Blue Moon, Guiness, and so far my favorite Yuengling. Only 100+ more to try! Beer + Karaoke is a better combination than water + Karaoke.

I plan on wearing my #10 Doctor Who Outfit for a Holloween Party. If some one has a clue to as to whom I am going as, I will be suprised. For that night, my name will be "The Doctor". Perhaps I will run int "A Rose". If anything needs fixed I will take out my sonic screw driver with a U/V light. Hope I don't find anything too disturbing. Which version of the Doctor are you going as? David Tennant's (#10) Dr. Who. I've had the striped suit for about three years ment for weddings, funnerals and interviews, which is 1/2 the custume. Just had to get a large brown overcoat, a white converse chuks, and of course a sonic screwdriver! I ordered a red pair of chucks which will due, but I do need the white pair for greater accuracy for the black striped suit. I'll try to get pictures posted before the weeks end. |
