Yes I can,t believe how soon some people forget how we watched in disbelief as captive American soldiers had their heads hacked off for the world including families to see. People want to blame their own country instead of where it belongs in Iraq. They brought this on with years of tyranny and murder and rape and breaking international laws.

Day after day I hear that grease ball Lou Dobbs Whinning and sniveling about whats wrong with America I say there is alot right with it. To my knowledge Dobbs hasen,t got off his big fat ass to do anything but complain.
"
I refuse to watch, that's encouraging the acts. I was horrified but not in disbelief. Where were these soldiers captured? What did you expect to happen when you invade another country? I blame our government for putting them in harm's way.
"

Just for the record I did not watch those beheadings either. What I would expect is that American prisoners be treated humanily just like they expect and whin when they get mistreated. Thing is their prisors get three hots and a cot and warm clothes not their head hacked off. Another thing is the people that continue this fight are not even from Iraq.Congress voted for the was also and when its not going as well as hope they want to cut and run???grumble
"well for the sake of honesty lets point out all the lies that led to the war and yes congress was misled as well as we fellow citizens, Bush himslef claimed saddam had tons of wmds....that being said admiting you made a huge collosal mistake and getting out is not cutting and running
"

Bush had the same intel as congress did aand give Iraqs history of using weapons of mass desrtuction by gassing his own people(remember Chemical Ali) Then Saddam always sending the atomic commission home made it really look like he was hiding something. Firing on planes in the no fly zone this went on for over 10 years Saddam brought this on himself.
"Its well documented that the Intel in regards to wmds in iraq was at the verry least misleading and many of the documents were forgaries. Most of the intel came from a man named Chalabi..........he had a vested interest in the overthrow of saddam and is now the oil minister...go figure Whatever happened to Ahmed Chalabi? (the man whose lies about WMDs took us to war)

Be the first to add photos and video to this story Whatever his political future, Mr Chalabi is one of the great survivors of Iraqi politics. "Never ever write him off," Hoshyar Zebari, the Iraqi Foreign Minister, said to me last year. For a start he is still alive despite numerous assassination attempts. Aged 62 he has seen extraordinary reversals of fortune. He comes from a wealthy Shia family that flourished in Baghdad until the overthrow of the monarchy in 1958. Always an opponent of Saddam Hussein, he became a banker in Jordan only to see his bank collapse in controversial circumstances in the late 1980s. In the 1990s he was in Iraqi Kurdistan vainly seeking to use it as a platform to overthrow Saddam. Forced to flee again in 1996 he seemed to have failed, but 10 years later Saddam is in his grave and Mr Chalabi sits in his heavily fortified house in Baghdad.

I am sick of being accused on being unsupportive of our troops. I support them by saying they should never be put in harm's way unless it is absolutely nessasary, & then give them the best equipment available to do the job & get them home ASAP. When they get home keep the promises we made & help them recover & get back to a normal life!

I hope you don,t think I am accusing you of being unsupportive I am just debateing this topic.flowerforyou

I am not sure if terrorist is the right word exactly after all we are in there country......so does that make them....oh freedom fighters?....since they wish to free there country of the yankees and determin the own destiny as a nation? They are certainly not a standing army they seem to me almost a spontanious reaction to our invasion and occupation. I guese it is a bit of a stretch to speculate along those lines but I am trying to see things from there perespective
"

The insurgents are not from Iraq the Irarqis had elections trying to set up their own police force and are getting killed for it. They are terrorists they kill children or anybody who wants change.

Step. Two.

Came to believe that a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity.

This step is so cool, when I was drinking/drugging I would spend whole paychecks,do things I normally would not do and while sober knowing where its all going to lead me I would take that first drink. Thats the insanity. In step step I have to start believing in something other than myself that could help me.

jonlaw, my god, my god, where are you in the time of need??? I sit here writing a response, but yet I've drank wine for 3 hrs. straight. I'm seeking just as you did days ago perhaps weeks ago. I get soooooo caught up in the events of my life, and want to just make ALL THINGS DISAPear w/ alcohol. I never tought I had a problem w/ alcohol, until lately. I'm sooooooo depressed w/ life, that drinking nightly has become a ritual to get to sleep. I'm scared to death!!!!! I don't want to turn to alcohol, but would rather turn to anyone who would WANT TO BE MY FRIEND..... I know I'm heading down the wrong road, is anyone there who can encourage me not to???? I'd appreciate it.
"

Hi There:

One thing you can count on is people like us are never too far away. I am glad you came here and boy I can relate to the way you are feeling I,ve been there recently I only have about 2 and a half month sober:smile: Being depressed when you are drinking is normal as alcohol is a depressant.

The first thing you have to do toreybelle is admit you have a problem and by your post you have already done that.I can only suggest that you phone the aa central office of your area and they will put you in touch with a meeting. They may even send a woman to talk with you and go to that first meeting or two with you. Believe me there is a whole wonderful world being in recovery.

Please do not be ashamed that you have a addiction to alcohol Drs. lawyers, judges, athletes, all walks of life. Alcohol has no social boundries. And finally come on this thread and have a read to start your day and drop a line how you are feeling you mean alot to me so remember you do have a friend here who cares.

Well I will close for now tomorrow just try not to drink and do what I suggested and let me know how you are doing be it good or bad. Bye for now.

More people have been killed in the name of Jesus Christ then any other person in history. Chew on that.

So? Point being? You just supported my position, people have used Christianity as an excuse to kill people. Show me where a Christian is taught to kill non-believers. Show me where Jesus said "kill in my name". It's not possible, so Christianity was an excuse for murder, not a reason.

More people have been killed in the name of Allah, but Allah isn't a person. More people have been killed by atheist regiemns (China, Russia, Vietnam, Cuba, Cambodia, Korea, etc). Don't believe me? Check a copy of Guiness World Records, it's in there. Or you could google "Democide" and do the research yourself.

I wasn't talking to you specificly, just everyone in general. And if you want to get technical God and Allah are the same being.

I hear that a lot...Allah admits to being fooled by Jews, my God is all knowing. My God taught tolerance to outsiders, Allah's position on outsiders changed throughout the Koran. They aren't the same God. Why is it that theologians say "Judeo-Christian" and not "Judeo-Christian-Islam"? Because Islam has many marked differences between itself and Judaism / Christianity. Christianity is a cap stone upon Judaism, which doesn't contradict but rather clarifies Judaism.
"

God is all knowing? then why didnt he know that his most beautiful angel was goin to raise against him? if God is all knowing then why didnt see what his people were goin to in his name?

"

Who said he did,nt know???

The difference is Funches you were saying why I turned to drug abuse. You distort the truth. You take what someone shares in a recovery thread then spread it around. What kind of man are you.
"

jonlaw..how did I distort the truth? ...you sure you don't want to take this conversation in your recovery thread ..so the fair maiden Rapunzel can finish posting her top forties and telling how God create christian animals to eat atheist jokes ....

No Funches I am not doing this anymore hope you have a pleasant day.

Did I quote anybody I was addressing the person who started this thread, but I will say this If you can,t take it then why dish it out. Sounds like if somebody else says anything you jump all over it. I have not read anything positive that comes your threads you just want to jump all over everbody elses. Did you know that not every single thing is a debate, you are the one whinning because you can,t take it only dish it out.

Then if I or anybody says anything you make it sound like some kind of Christian movement. That would be like me saying this guy poses in all his photos with out a shirt all weight lifters must be vain
"

just because I don't have a girly body like yours I have to be vain ..well maybe that means I just care about my self and you don't which is why you turned to drug abuse ...you whine if someone post in your thread and then you whine in other people threads and yes this is a forum so everything is a debate or debatable
"
