Thank you for your words. It is completely understandable.

I, for one, started a thread the very moment I joined the site, to
introduce my self, very few people from the established crowd came in to
welcome me. They have done so most warmly over the course of days, and
now I feel totally at home.

I posted the following in a different thread today, but it conveys the
same feelings:

for us newcomers.

I am still "new" to the site, in terms of having joined more recently
than others. I am new as well, to the world of internet
friendship/dating... I have found many wonderful friends, a lot of
interesting characters that, even though I cannot call my friends, have
my respect, because they are people of integrity and opinions.

Most early members have been most accomodating to the more recent
joiners. But now, we are all in the same cathegory: MEMBERS. It's been
more than 2 weeks since the massive exodus. We were requested to stop
talking about the unmentionable site, and most have complied.

I concur very much with the posts about change. The only sure thing in
life, besides dying, is change. Everything changes constantly, nothing
stays still, everything is ever changing. If it wasn't us coming in
here, something else would have changed this site eventually, for better
or for worse.

Personally, I think that most of the new comers are respectful,
opinionated, intelligent and corteous. And for the most part we have met
with the same; as in any large group, there are the odd rude ones,
obnoxious, embarrasing ones, that thrive on making others life
impossible, and embarras their own and make fools out of themselves.

I, for one, like the site, and the people here. The people in my
"friends" page is mostly those that came with me, for obvious reasons,
but several of the early settlers of this site have requested my
friendship. And that's why I am here for. To make new friends, to learn,
to express myself.

We call little Johnny "Pepito" in Spanish jokes... so bad, they must be
first cousins or something...

I could probably try that here in Panama, but it all depends if I get a
good cop or a crooked one... if I get a good one he'll probably shoot me
and then find out, if I get a crooked one, he probably try to bribe me
to let me go, and then shoot me...

But it would be a hell of a laugh to try it...

IMHO, I think once you have ascertained that this persona has some of
the qualities you are looking for in a prospective partner, try and take
it to the next level. That's if you are really dating, going out and
all...

If it is internet dating context... Its a totally different monster...

I do agree with Jane, taking it too slow causes anxiety in me, stress.
Why play the guess game, when it is so much easier to talk it through?

Why engage in the endless chatting, taing it slow, if it will never and?

I'll say talk... get your answers and answer some questions as well. And
