My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for
over a year, and so we decided to get married. There
was only one little thing bothering me.

It was her beautiful younger sister.

My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore
very tight miniskirts, and generally was bra less. One
day "little" sister called and asked me to come over to
check the wedding invitations.

She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to
me that she had feelings and desires for me that she
couldn't overcome.

She told me that she wanted to make love to me just
once before I got married. Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say
a word. She said, "I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one
last wild fling, just come up and get me." I was stunned and frozen in
shock as I watched
her go up the stairs.

When she reached the top she pulled off her panties
and threw them down the stairs at me. I stood there
for a moment, then turned and made a beeline
straight to the front door.

I opened the door, and headed straight towards my
car.

Lo and behold, my entire future family was standing
outside, all clapping!

With tears in his eyes, my future father-in-law
hugged me and said, "We are very happy that you have passed
our little test.....we couldn't ask for a better man
for our daughter. Welcome to the family."

And the moral of this story is:

Always keep your condoms in your car...

To porcelain: I didn't come up with this. I didn't do the research. It
just was sent to me by a friend, to my personal email and I thought I
should share it with you guys. If you don't have any time, or you thing
it is too long to read, well, then dear, you know what to do. And I
guess we all do with our free time what we see fit.

This is actually really freaky!! (Mainly the end part, but read it
first)
1) New York City has 11 letters
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb has 11 letters. (The terrorist who threatened to destroy
the Twin Towers in 1993)
4) George W Bush has 11 letters.

This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets interesting:
1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number
11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers.
6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1
=11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911.
9 + 1 + 1 = 11

Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make
up your own mind:
1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254.
2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year.
Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers
incident.

Now this is where things get totally eerie:

The most recognized symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the
Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Koran, the Islamic holy
book:

"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle.
The
wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah while
some
of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of
the
Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."

That verse is number 9.11 of the Koran.
Unconvinced about all of this Still ..?!

Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand on
end:

Open Microsoft Word and do the following:
1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane
to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2. Highlight the Q33 NY.
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS 1
What do you think now?!!

IT'S KIND OF FREAKY HUH???

I have come across this in the internet and I thought it was worth to
share it:

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head .

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln , was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln , was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a
warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a
theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

To bearandwhiskey, in regards to his response to my "get a life"
comment:
In page 15 you repeated the same question 4 times, paraphrasing it
differently. Yet, you failed to answer any of the questions directed to
you. Either that is a clear sign of some form of ADD, or you just
blatantly decided to ignore the questions.

Rules of debate applies to all of us. When you discover what the rules
of debating are, and when you find out that common courtesy is a big
part of it, then we can talk.

And, sorry for telling you to get a life. That was wrong. Get a more
interesting life is more accurate.

Back to the original post, please.

Ooooohhh! you are dislexic! then that explains it... Do you also suffer
of ADD, which rendrs you incapable of paying attention? It is
disrespectful to misspell a persons name. Now, bearandwhiskey is not
your real name, is it?

Go back a few posts and you will realize that you called me Alda before,
but you admitted that you are dislexic, so there is your defense, I just
have long fingernails.

Now, I see that you have picked a different subject (me) to argue with.
The fact that I am a woman, good looking or not, is of no consequence,
as you might have noticed, or you will shortly find out.

I told you to take your personal issues with Poet up to him, but you
insist in bringing the "liar" issue up to me.

Now you accuse me of watering down the original debate because I will
not acknowledge your claim as I did his. Well, that's a pissing contest
that the two of you are having, and I don't want anything more to say
about it.

If you have anything to say in regards to the original post "Saddam
Hussein was he really that bad", go ahead. Anything else is not worth my
time.

Sorry for the misspelling bearandwhisky.

To any activity there is tool... so there are tools for debate.

The rest of what you are talking about is a personal issue betwen you
and Poet... talk it up with him.

Alada's photo

A couple of things here:
To Beard and Poet: You are both adult men and you don't need me to
settle this for you. If you have personal issues, take it outside and
get the tickling over with.

Beard, you need to post your opinion and stop cutting and pasting other
people's opinion and trying to make it pass as facts, when is nothing
else than an opinion.

Poet, you are entitled to read between the lines, and for the record, I
would have been insulted by those remarks myself.

SHADOW:

Bravo! I totally concur with you. Attack the debate, disect the issue
being discussed, not each other. Use the regular tools for debate: good
writing, coherent thoughts, personal opinion, actual proven facts to
back it up, and a lot of stamina to see your point through. Anything
else is unacceptable and degrades the other forum posters.

So please let us go back to the original thread.

Princess, thank you. It is actually pretty amusing to read.

What would be your opinion on the original post? I think we could use a
different point of view, as this debate is going in circles and landing
nowhere.

Quoting myself: "First of all, there was no name calling, nor insults.
Mr. Beard here only lacks the right tools and have to repeat himself
over and over, and become sarcastic and patronizing. Sarcasm is the
lowest form of wit.

I see here that he is full ideas but lacks the proper arguments, and
that renders his statements useless."

READ THE FIRST SENTENCE OF MY STATEMENT.

Second Sentence means:
lack of proper tools: tools to debate, without resorting to cut and
paste, instead of using actual, proven facts, to back up your opinions.
Refusing to respond and back up your statements with actual facts, not
other's opinions.

And you are becoming patronizing and sarcastic, and since sarcasm is the
lowest form of wit I will not resort to the same antics and just express
myself as if I was talking to highly intelligent individuals. Without
changing the subjects. Go figure.

I do not make excuses for them, for you or for me. I call it as it is.
If the scope of anyone's understanding can't grasp it, none of my fault.

As if they needed me to stand for them.

If you think you might need additional clarification, please feel free
to post.

funny, but we have plenty of islands... we can join all of the San Blas
Islands, I think there are like 365 of them, or enlarge Isla del Rey
(where the Survivor show Pearl Islands was shot). Or we can all migrate
to the US, and cause the immigration authorities there an even major
problem...

Quoting bearandwhisky: "Hitler said its a great thing that people cant
think. And I guess he was right"

One thing is when a person can't think, another is when they refuse to
think and a totally different monster is when they truly believe that
they are thinking, by copying and pasting others opinions. It is
plagiarism. Dellusion, et seq.

If you can't think for youself, please, at last read and try to
interpret the questions and come up with an answer, one answer but it
has to be yours.

Otherwise, this is just "ring around the rosies" with you.

This will be a never ending story... the Canal will be expanded, and the
vessels will be built bigger, and then we will expand the canal again,
until there is no Panama, and there will be expeditious pass for every
vessel in the world, we Panamanians might have to use our air-space to
build our living quarters!

Meddling where I shouldn't but here it goes:

First of all, there was no name calling, nor insults. Mr. Beard here
only lacks the right tools and have to repeat himself over and over, and
become sarcastic and patronizing. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

I see here that he is full ideas but lacks the proper arguments, and
that renders his statements useless.

Going back to the original post, yes, Saddam was really bad. He played
whore to the US and then tried to backstab the countries that made him,
not Iraq, powerful. If Iraq, by itself would have been powerful, that
would have meant that the Iraqi people was strong and capable. But Iraq
had no power, Saddam did. And that power went away the day he went into
hiding and died the day he was hanged.

Internal struggle amongst the different religious factions is tearing
that country to bits. And American, UK and UN soldiers are meddling in a
conflict that will only be settled when a real, compassionate leader
rise from within. And while that happens, a lot of boys are going to
die.

Maybe I went off subject here?

I am self proclaiming myself the mediator in this debate... and viewing
that on e of the debaters lacks the appropriates tools and opinins to
carry out an intelligent debate - namely Mr. BeardandWhiskey - I think
we should conclude this debate.

He has selective visuals and limited understanding. I, for one, am eager
to hear his own opinions and ideas to the responses repeatedly given to
him by AB and Poet, yet, he refuses to respond and continues to drag in
by copying and pasting, the opinions of experts, but not experts on the
debated issues, which takes all credibility from the responses offered.

Is up to the debaters to keep wasting time and energy.

The Canal through Nicaragua is not happening... and this is not wishful
thinking.

The costs of such an enterprise are too high and the investors have seen
that it is better to invest in the enlargement than to build a new one.
The is a land Canal in place already. It is the Panama Railroad that
goes from Cristobl in the Atlantic to Balboa in the Pacific, and it
transports mainly containers to be shipped in the vessels that travel
from port to port in the different locations, be it Atlantic ports or
Pacific ports, without necessarily having to cross the canal.

The Panama Railroad was first built to expedite and safeguard the lives
of US citizens traveling overseas and due to its timing, accomodate the
need of people from the US East Coast to travel to the West Coast during
the California Gold Rush. To go across the expanse of the US and to face
the natives, was unthinkable, and to build the railroad through the US
was going to be a larger enterprise than building it through Panama,
despite yellow fever and dengue. It was completed in 5 years.

There are other alternative routes, but it has been proved that they are
not feasible, otherwise not one, but two or three canals would have
sprung in the region.

Bravo!

Beardandwhisky, you have to stop the cutting and pasting, and start
posting your own opinions. If anybody here wantd to debunk this
conspiracy theories they would have gone directly to the sources, not
through you.

Answered the very direct questions AB and Poet and posting... This is a
very enlightening and interesting forum...

^^^^^^^^ I did say I had ambiguous feeelings about it... I am still
making up my mind. But I do agree in a couple things. Freedom isn't
free. And it also takes two to Tango. If one wants to fight and the
other doesn't, then it becomes bullying. We (Panaman)have danced with
the Devil in the Pale Moonlight... for as long as I can remember... and
we have paid the price and harvested the rewards as well.

In regards to the discussions about other routes for a Canal in the
region, before the French settled for Panama, there were 2 other routes
discussed, one through Nicaragua and one throught the Isthmus of
Tehuantepec Mexico.

The route through Nicaragua was dismissed mainly due to the fact that
they due have volcanic activity. The discussions have ressumed, and
there exists the believe that there is enough commercial traffic
(trade)in the region to support two canals. In my opinion, there isn't.

The main reason Nicaragua was proposing to build a canal was to
accomodate Post-Panamax vessels, and that reason is no longer valid, as
the project to enlarge the Panama Canal was voted for and approved and
construction already began. The enlargement is self-supportive, and
foreign private investment will be used as well, whereas no additional
loans from International banks will be necessary.

I think that the reason some individuals in the US are trying to push
for a Canal in Nicaragua, is because the US have lost the stronghold it
had in Panama. The government is no longer under it's control and under
fear of interference due to the Canal Neutrality. The hopes to see
failure befall the Panamanian Administration of the Canal has not come
true.

So I believe that's one of the major reasons to push forward an
initiative to build a transoceanic canal through Nicaragua. But it was
an initiative that had the blessing of former President Bolaños. Bolaños
is no longer the President, but Daniel Ortega is. And although Ortega
has sworn to cooperate with the US, I think it would be under his terms.
