I received an e-mail from my best friend today telling me that she had a dream about my oldest daughter. A bit of history here: My daughter is 19 and she's having a baby around March 2008. She had a miscarriage threat last week which kept me back and forth from the Hospital, but she is home now and in complete and absolute bed rest for 2 weeks. She still has another week to go, before she can leave the bed. The baby is doing fine so far, very active.

Anyhow, my friend said that she saw my daughter in her dream, looking a bit upset and like walking through some medieval caves as if she was looking for jewellery. There was a lot of gold and jewellery.

We don't know what it means. Is there anybody here that care to interpret this for us? In a serious manner?

Two young boys walked into a pharmacy one day,
picked out a box of Tampax
and proceeded to the checkout counter.

The man at the counter asked the older boy, "Son,
how old are you?"

"Eight", the boy replied.

The man continued, "Do you know how these are used?"

The boy replied, "Not exactly, but they aren't for
me. They are for him.

He's my brother. He's four. We saw on TV that if you
use these, you would be able to swim and ride a bike. He can't do either one."

I have a 19 y/o daughter that came to me 3 weeks ago and gave the news that I am going to be a Grandma. She has already graduated from HS but she decided to take a Sabbatical year before going to College, against my counsel... She is very opinionated and she and her boyfriend have decided to raise the baby, he is a rock to her... Fortunately. She had been living with my mom for the last year, and she moved back home on Saturday, and she's been working at a good company ever since she graduated.

I have offered them my support, love, everything that I can do for them... but I did set some ground rules. They were thrown upon a decision on their lives that's not only going to have an effect in their lives, but in both families. And his family has turned their back on him. And he is a very good young man. I am not making them do things my way, nor I am conditioning my support, but they are in a position now, where they will have to listen and do things differently to avoid as much as they can making irrational mistakes. So, even though I am not making comments nor choosing for them, I do feel that my opinion should be taken into account at the time of decison making, and they have accepted this. This is something that needs to be done as a family.

It is your daughter's choice, but as the parent is your duty and responsibility and right, to intervene. To offer your opinion. Your comfort, your love. Your advise.

That's all I can do, and that's all I am doing. And of course, buying her new clothes bigsmile

C'mon Lulu! No book yet? I stood in line with my kids, since 9:50 the night before, played trivias, got into arguments... talk about a "time-turning episode" went back to feeling a teenager myself...my son was really excited, he only know me as mom, I think now he thinks I am a cool mom, after beating serious Harry Potter fans in a trivia game, lol! The extents we go to, to get our kids attention! Lol! laugh

By the way, I got the fourth book out of the box, left the store at 12:07 (6 minutes after they started selling the book, of course, mine was prepaid!) and got home around 12:35!

My 13 y/o son worships the Simpson's, he went to see it over the weekend (his schoolmates and their Religion teacherohwell )and he found it hilarious... I saw the trails and I am quite sure he missed a lot of the jokes because they do not translate into Spanish (for example, the bit where Homer is between the Rock and a Hard Place, way over their heads) the movie was dubbed to Spanish, but Simpson's fans are used to it in Spanish so I guess they found it good... I have never liked the Simpsons myself, although I laugh every time I get to see one of their bits.

I still have trust issues with Dumbledore.

And the fact that Snape was on Harry's side all the time didn't make him a friend. How does the old saying goes? With friends like that who needs enemies?

Still, it brought tears to my eyes to see the unconditional love he had for Lily... and how he kept her Patronus...

I wouldn't want to see the Deathly Hallows movie as a Nightmare or Corpse of the Bride type... More like Batman 2, darker... Who would Johnny Depp be? He has to be one of the new characters in Half Blood Prince, maybe a younger Snape? or a younger Sirius! That's it! Sirious around the time they first fought Voldemort and rode a flying bike! So cool!
