Did some babysitting tonight and it got me thinking of the shows/music I enjoyed when I was little. Off to download some Fraggle Rock and Raffi right now in fact. What were some of your favorite kiddie shows, artists?

I know that women have vaginas. If you're confused on that point you should probably spend less time in bars.

I would not wish to be rich or successful. I would much rather try and get there by my own merits. Even if I never achieve it, I will be happier striving for it than voluntarily giving up my sense of purpose.

I would not wish to be famous. I value my privacy and I like having a small group of friends I know I can trust. I doubt either of those things could exist if I were a public icon.

I would not wish for true love. I'd miss out on all the things that precede a serious relationship... getting to know each other, coming to trust each other. The first kiss. First time making love. And all the other firsts that come with it. If I came in at the middle I'd always wonder how the story should have begun.

I would not wish for world peace, and that's already been covered.

I would not wish for outer beauty because if you don't feel beautiful then its a self-esteem problem and no amount of physical alteration is likely to change that.

I would wish to live the best possible version of my life from this day forth. EXCEPT I don't need a wish to do that. And neither does anybody else.

I'll take a curvy woman over a thin one any day. Most of my friends are the same way. We might not be the majority but there are plenty of us.

Opeth, DT, Arch Enemy, Dimmu and Meshuggah are quality listening for sure.

Good picks, bro.

dude, if you like Dimmu and Meshuggah you've gotta check out Xerath. New band out of the UK, been really impressed. Kinda sounds like a blend of those two bands, and very original as a result.

you know its interesting but the biggest threat to the music industry right now really isn't piracy, its iTunes. Most people would rather just pay a dollar for that one song they heard on the radio than 15 for the whole thing. So the artist makes next to nothing AND most of their music doesn't get heard. However, most people that download music will get the whole album (and often discography) and a large portion of us actually will go out and buy the cd if we like it enough to keep it. I had a collection of about 200 albums before they were stolen and I would still rather buy a cd than download.

There's another trend that died with the era of tapes and cds... special songs/messages that can only be heard when the song is played backwards. It was way easy to do with a record, next to impossible to do with a tape or cd without special equipment. There's plenty of software out there now that will do it for you, but most people don't care enough to look for it, and very few artists actually put those kinds of easter eggs on their releases anymore.

Thanks to the information era this is a trend that is sadly going out of style. When you buy a cd or a track online if there's bonus material hidden at the end you'll rarely get to hear it. Sadly, if you just steal the album with a torrent site you're more likely to get the whole thing in its entirety. I can only recall a couple of examples over the years... Green Day on the end of Dookie, Tool's 'Disgustipated', there's some noise at the end of one of my Opeth albums. Can't remember which one. Its always a nice surprise to find though.

Opeth - In My Time of Need

I can't see the meaning of this life I'm leading
I try to forget you as you forgot me
This time there is nothing left for you to take, this is goodbye

Summer is miles and miles away
And no one would ask me to stay

And I should contemplate this change
To ease the pain
And I should step out of the rain
Turn away

Close to ending it all, I am drifting through the stages
Of the rapture born within this loss
Thoughts of death inside, tear me apart from the core of my soul

Summer is miles and miles away
And no one would ask me to stay

And I should contemplate this change
To ease the pain
And I should step out of the rain
Turn away

At times the dark's fading slowly
But it never sustains
Would someone watch over me
In my time of need

If this sketch sounds familiar you might have a problem. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about caring too much. Of all the problems a person can have that one doesn't even belong on the list.

Now is not a good time, to photocopy your butt, and staple it to your boss' face OH NO. Eat a bucket of tuna flavored pudding and wash it down with a gallon of strawberry quik.
