maybewecan -- I used hangouts one time for extended conversation and exchanging photos. THEN I found out #1: google keeps ALL messages archived and keeps them FOREVER (not good) and #2 emailer was a scam I will never go to hangouts again.

I hate texts....I want to read comnplete words and sentences...if you want to chat with me...either do it via an e-mail, or some other method of communication that allows more than 160 characters.. Not asking anyone else to change... and not interested in someone trying to tell *me* to "get with the times"... sounds like MY preferences. I totally agree. |

these must be popular tools/apps, or whatever. THere seems to be an automatic assumption that everyone uses them. I get so many requests to provide my Kik or Whatsapp information. Does anyone else get these requests very often? My cell phone is basically used for contacting family on occasion. I still have not got on the bandwagon of using a phone as a computer, I have an ACTUAL computer for that, so I dont do the apps and other things, except maybe for a map because I don't want to purchase a GPS. harmony, I do the same. I totally agree - it might not work for everyone, but it feels safer to me. |

single adults with a job have to budget, families and single parents have to budget? why? in order to pay the rent or mortgage, to buy food, pay for insurance of different kinds, etc. etc. If they begin to use credit cards for necessities, pretty soon they are far in debt. Some even have to declare bankruptcy or find themselves homeless. Why can't governments, from local, city, county, state and federal have to do the same? It's simple...write down the NECESSITIES. get them paid for. THEN, if you want to use tax money for a lite rail, or a fancy stadium OK with me....but stop lining politicians pockets and wasting money OUR taxpayer money.

In my opinion Obamacare was known to be a rip off and would shortly fall apart. Now that we have disastercare the real direction is coming to the forefront: Medicare for all. Sounds nice but PBS news just said it will cost tens of trillions to implement. Typical socialism. during an interview with Rolling Stone Opens a New Window. , on Wednesday, Pelosi was stumped on the large price tag of Medicare for All. "Thirty trillion dollars," she said. I am amazed how many lottery tickets and game scratch offs people here buy when they get gas or groceries. Today a guy bought $20 of gas and $42 of lottery "hopes" at our local U-Stop. It didn't look like he even owned a decent pair of jeans. That's what our government in counties, states and federal does....overspend when they can't pay the debts they OWE already. The money for lottery is supposed to go to school districts, yet schools are constantly presenting bond issues to the public. And we have a "restaurant" tax on all meals and drinks -- I forget now what THAT is supposed to pay off. POLITICIANS -Stop taxing us and just pay the bills without skimming off for yourself.

I have many complaints about the duplex I live in....so to the other renters. We are under HUD, but take our complaints to the owners. They don't care. I got a $20 raise on my social security, then my rent raised $10 and my meds went up $50. We have two empty duplexes, and there seems to be no desire to fill them. Our sidewalks were "patched" this fall, and last night after all the snow was scooped and the day warmed up to 30 degrees, there was some snow melt. When I stepped outside, I stepped into 3 inches of water, standing from my door entry to about 1 foot out. The sidewalk repair is SLANTED. If I complain, there is nothing "they" will do about it. If I don't let them know, a big rain could let water into my house. It is THEIR carpet, but I would have to then live with mold and wetness. One of the ladies here called management constantly and they evicted her. I believe this IS going on all over. I, like you Tom, do not know quite how to handle this. I also cannot physically handle another move. Coming here moved me out of the home I lived in for 40 years and believe it or not, My hair turned gray over a period of 3 months during the emotional turmoil of moving.
