Topic: What are you doing? - part 13 | |

Thawing out with a cup of coffee. Eric decided since it's springtime, we don't need heat anymore! Uuggghh... I had an aunt like that. When springtime began, and she had a set date for that, she'd turn off the heating, put away her winter clothes and she'd start wearing summer clothes, EVEN if it was still freezing I couldn't live that way. I hate being cold, can't function when I'm cold either. Plus, it's not really good if you have joint/muscle etc issues. It's all good... I have an electric blanket! He's not quite as extreme as your Aunt, I just like picking on him. To be honest, we're waiting for the gas guy to come and refill the tank, lol. When the temps are in the mid 40's or lower, we do turn on the heat. And when it's raining just because it gets pretty damp in the trailer. Gas guy should be here tomorrow. We've had pretty warm days, and most of the time, it stays warm at night... so long as I remember to close the windows. Only when mid 40 or lower, that's 7C or lower, brrrrrr... I'd buy thermal underwear and get my fire pit going indoors, hahaha. My indoor temp is 21C during the day and 21,5C in the evening, and that evening temp is already making an effort to make by to save gas. Used to have it 22 - 22,5C or higher. Anything less and I'm really not comfortable. I once visited a friend that didn't put the heating above 18C and it was winter :o We were there for a couple hours and at some point I put my coat on as I was freezing my @$$ off. She didn't bat an eyelid. I'd feel horrible if my guests were that cold. My aunt was the first time I came across that kind of thing, and I was flabbergabbered, hihi. I didn't know there were people like that. And we had to spend a few days -nights- at her place while we came from the tropics. The temp difference was enormous as it was. I also still have the heating on in the evenings now and if need be during the day, be it May or not. Cold is cold. But in any case, glad you're getting gas again. Stay warm under your blanket till then!! That's crazy, when Eric's Mom is visiting we keep the heat up higher than normal so she doesn't freeze. In the winter months we keep the heat at 70F/21C. I meant when the outdoor temps are in the mid 40's. If it's really warm during the day, it will stay around 55 to 60 indoors during the night. If the indoor temp is less than 55, sometimes 60 depending on how damp it is, I turn the heat up for sure. I tell Eric if he doesn't want the heat on he'll have to let me use the small of his back to warm up my feet! That usually helps with men, haha. And I didn't mean to criticize you. We all do what we need. And oftentimes men are warmer and need less heating than women. I've been there, plenty of discussions with a once partner, hihi. In the end he gave up and walked around in a shirt while I was wearing a thick sweater to try and stay warm. I once read on a forum when someone asked about the indoor temps that a helluva lot of people don't go over 18C, not even in winter. For me way too cold, but we are all different :) It does mean I shop around for a good gas price each time my contract ends, hihi. With the current gas price sky-rocketing I'm happy I chose a 3 year contract last time! It ends summer next year, hopefully prices have gone back to normal by then or I'm in chit. As it is they don't even do contract with a steady price right now. Fingers crossed. But again, I didn't mean to criticize. No offense taken I'm probably a little defensive! I'm actually freezing and trying to convince myself that it's not that bad, lol. I don't like being cold either. It's one thing to be 50 and sunny, but when it's cloudy and rainy at 50, I'm ready for snowpants or long underwear, haha. I suppose I could do some baking, that will help take the chill out of the air. Eric... he just walks around in shorts and says, "I don't know what your problem is, it's nice", LOL. Men!!! Yes, gas prices are getting crazy. I hope it's not too bad for you this winter. We have propane, but it's still costly. |

My once partner switched off the waterbed during summer. Holy hell!! You're literally sleeping on a huge bag of cold water. He liked it, I was NOT happy, haha. My last partner wanted the duvet loose at the foot end, while I hate it when my duvet is not tucked in. But that one was easily sorted. I guess it's give and take :) As for my gas costs, I'm okay until summer 2023, contract with fixed price per month. After July 2023 it's wait and see. But for now and coming winter I'm good! |

Enjoying my morning coffee and the warmth of the fireplace. And sending positive thoughts out to the Universe that the gas man shows up before the propane tank runs completely out of fuel, haha.

Waiting for my new coffee machine to arrive. It should've been here already. I really dislike DHL deliveries. Normal Dutch Post is far more reliable.
