Yes miss Bella has stayed with me, I think it's her love of air conditioninglaugh I'm still the only one that gets to pet her, she is definitely a one person cat! We amuse the neighborhood on our morning walks, she still loves hiding and jumping out of the shadows at melaugh She has brought me so much joy:heart:

Aw glad she’s bringing joy into your life

I remember my cat dragged a seagull through the cat flap. I’m pretty sure my neighbours 1/2 mile away heard my screams laugh

Oh goodness, I can SO imagine that! I hate seagulls, they scare the crap out of me! Legacy of "Birds" but also, they have such dead eyes, like a shark. And a humongous beak, brrrr...

My first winter here we had some 25 cms snow, very unusual for a coastal area, and at some point I saw something brownish in the snow. Turned out to be a dead seagull.
I had to deal with it lest it start to rot OR my cats would decide to chew on it, or get rats or whatever.
Took me a long time. I figured I could do it with the spade, but I walked back & forth a few times, wanting to ask the neighbour then feeling silly etc.
In the end I did do it myself, but damn...
In retrospect I think said neighbour shot it with his air rifle, hihi.

The things our fur babies bring us haha.

I was lucky as I left it for my ex to deal with as I couldn’t do it myself. The seagull was bigger than the cat!

Uuggghh... I had an aunt like that. When springtime began, and she had a set date for that, she'd turn off the heating, put away her winter clothes and she'd start wearing summer clothes, EVEN if it was still freezing noway

I couldn't live that way. I hate being cold, can't function when I'm cold either. Plus, it's not really good if you have joint/muscle etc issues.

Drinking coffee, hand made in a thermos and filter as my coffee machine broke down.
I'm going to be SO happy when my new one arrives tomorrow!

It's all good... I have an electric blanket! laugh

He's not quite as extreme as your Aunt, I just like picking on him. To be honest, we're waiting for the gas guy to come and refill the tank, lol. When the temps are in the mid 40's or lower, we do turn on the heat. And when it's raining just because it gets pretty damp in the trailer. Gas guy should be here tomorrow.

We've had pretty warm days, and most of the time, it stays warm at night... so long as I remember to close the windows. slaphead laugh

Only when mid 40 or lower, that's 7C or lower, brrrrrr... I'd buy thermal underwear and get my fire pit going indoors, hahaha. My indoor temp is 21C during the day and 21,5C in the evening, and that evening temp is already making an effort to make by to save gas. Used to have it 22 - 22,5C or higher.
Anything less and I'm really not comfortable. I once visited a friend that didn't put the heating above 18C and it was winter :o We were there for a couple hours and at some point I put my coat on as I was freezing my @$$ off. She didn't bat an eyelid. I'd feel horrible if my guests were that cold.
My aunt was the first time I came across that kind of thing, and I was flabbergabbered, hihi. I didn't know there were people like that. And we had to spend a few days -nights- at her place while we came from the tropics. The temp difference was enormous as it was.
I also still have the heating on in the evenings now and if need be during the day, be it May or not. Cold is cold.

But in any case, glad you're getting gas again. Stay warm under your blanket till then!!

Well, that's really a good thing you raise here!
The purring of cats is very healing. It works on stress levels, but the frequencies in between which their purring falls is also the frequency that heals bones, muscles, skin, and soft tissues.
This could be why petting a cat is very good for rheumatic people.
Now that's also because cats love the energy that is negative for us. It's beneficial for them you see, so the vibrations that cause rheumatism is kind of taking over by cats that are served by it and the person is rid of it.
Of course that will have it's limits and if a cat is burdened with a lot of negativity already...

Cats are very protective and are known to take on human's negativity to transform it. And when there's lots it can become too much.
Then it can be good to give the cat(s) labradorite water to help it get rid of it and/or not take it on so much to begin with.

Cats are truly magical! They used to live in Atlantean temples, helping priestesses/priests in healing of people -especially using crystal for healing.
Not for nothing that cats were also sacred in Egypt. You could get killed if you killed or harmed a cat! Entire temple dedicated to cats that lived there.

But in any case, yes, their sound is healing. Sound healing is extremely powerful! It's all about vibration and everything IS and has vibration, including us.

BTW it's also soothing to a cat itself to hear another cat purr. There's sound clips of this on YouTube. I've tested it. They react and love it!

That's crazy, when Eric's Mom is visiting we keep the heat up higher than normal so she doesn't freeze.

In the winter months we keep the heat at 70F/21C.

I meant when the outdoor temps are in the mid 40's. If it's really warm during the day, it will stay around 55 to 60 indoors during the night. If the indoor temp is less than 55, sometimes 60 depending on how damp it is, I turn the heat up for sure.

I tell Eric if he doesn't want the heat on he'll have to let me use the small of his back to warm up my feet! bigsmile laugh

That usually helps with men, haha.

And I didn't mean to criticize you. We all do what we need. And oftentimes men are warmer and need less heating than women. I've been there, plenty of discussions with a once partner, hihi. In the end he gave up and walked around in a shirt while I was wearing a thick sweater to try and stay warm.
I once read on a forum when someone asked about the indoor temps that a helluva lot of people don't go over 18C, not even in winter. For me way too cold, but we are all different :)
It does mean I shop around for a good gas price each time my contract ends, hihi. With the current gas price sky-rocketing I'm happy I chose a 3 year contract last time! It ends summer next year, hopefully prices have gone back to normal by then or I'm in chit. As it is they don't even do contract with a steady price right now. Fingers crossed.
But again, I didn't mean to criticize.
