When you are offended .. what is your go to response (we all have them)

No man should ever tell me to be silent or question my integrity

My go to response is .. the death stare followed by “Go to hell “. Not the biblical hell but the real life equivalent

I usually try and make my SILENCE heard on such occasions, and I have been through some such unwanted incidents! Yeah, I have done it effectively! Though such incidents had nothing to do with physicality or body shaming.
I have an almost zero tolerance too rude behavior, or unwanted curse words, "beeped out words" which some don't think twice before uttering! If she happens to be a date I do give her a chance to correct herself! But as you rightly said, the human ego is delicate and she won't budge! Here, I WITHDRAW.

sometimes when I spend more time to explain the love from my heart forgetting all the anger that was shown to me n suddenly when the person hits back with the words "use your brain"
I don't anymore feel like putting efforts to explain abt anything anymore

I don't like it when someone tells me to calm down. That never goes over well with me. I also don't like being condescended to.

If I'm upset, I'll usually get quiet; maybe look for an excuse to leave for a while.

When someone refers to Indians, Pakistanis, Africans or English people, but they come out with the words "your people" to me...

It's true that I associate with all of those nationalities, and it just presses my buttons

Hi Kevin knowing what I know about you . Your response fits with the Man I know you to be It is true that something’s spoken in anger or frustration cannot be taken back , so I avoid unleashing in that way . Rather than being silent I tend to express how I am feeling and why. My go to hell response is usually reserved for situations that appear futile .

Humour can be great at resolving conflict , however that depends on the seriousness /context of what the conflict is . Deflection and silence is not always helpful .

Hi colder sky every relationship has its ups and downs . I guess my response would be based on how emotionally invested I am in the relationship and if I believe it is worth saving . I try not to play the blame game .. there are generally faults on both sides . Respect is super important but also acknowledging the other person’s world view and attempting to understand the catalyst behind their behaviour/communication .

Hi Jaan ..we all have different triggers and thresholds when it comes to buttons being pushed .... I find sticking long needles into voodoo dolls very therapeutic

Hi aatheera words can be very damaging especially when from someone we have a romantic connection to . Time out from a confrontation and giving each other personal space to reflect in most cases is helpful . .the lead into that , and how a situation is left can be important . The silent treatment is not always effective .

Hi Bonnie . .. I would generally challenge anything I considered condescending before going quiet but that can just exacerbate conflict . I certainly have a fiery side but I try to remain aware of why someone is acting the way they are and what my part in all that is .
