I knew a guy in high school who had size fourteen feet.

And I don't think "the big guy" would like being herded.

Robrox posted a number of links to vids where you could hear what was allegedly bigfoot. I listen and I have to admit if I'd been camping there I'd have done a runner or crawled under a rock.
He also said he was out camping one day with someone and heard very very strange sounds that freaked him out.

I remember because I took an interest in the topic.

On the Tule River Indian Reservation in California, petroglyphs created by a group of Yokuts at a site called Painted Rock are alleged by some to depict a group of Bigfoots called "the Family". The local tribespeople call the largest of the glyphs "Hairy Man" and they are estimated to be between 500 and 1000 years old. ~ wiki

You would think 1,000 year old 'evidence' would reveal at least one confirmed evidence that such a creature exists.
There have been downward pointing satellites for around 70 years now. Thousands of people view these images in great detail. Don't you think at least one satellite would detect such a creature?

There has never been a carcass of bigfoot, no actual confirmed evidence of their presence. No paleontology finds supporting their presence.

Granted there may be creatures in the wild which are unknown. There are creatures in the seas which are unknown.

Since King Kong, there have been many 'man in a suit' ape movies with many different ape designs and behaviors. Its funny how the only actual evidence is thousands of casts of footprints. The strangest thing is the fact all the casts seem to exhibit the same qualities. Any experienced tracker will tell you walking, running and jumping leave distinct 'tells' and not ever animal makes the same print. Plus, being animals, many footprints leave evidence of malformation due to breaks, limps and cuts.

As for the sounds people hear in the forests, they could be from anything.
Sounds are not proof unless one can see the creature making the sound.
People love mysteries. Because of that, other people thrive on creating hoaxes to support mysteries. People have vivid imaginations too. Especially while camping.

I'll reserve my belief till and actual "BigFoot" carcass has been found and scientifically identified. Till then bigfoot is merely entertainment suitable for campfire stories and bad 'B' movies.

Many cultures across the globe,
have, at various points, had
stories of similar creatures.

They can be interesting stories at times.
What little "evidence" that does exist,
simply does not hold up under scrutiny.

I have also been visited by a family of squatches and seen just the one when I unlocked my front gate around 3 or 4 am.
