To assist Biden in his 1 trillion infra plan I suggest the following: Sell existing road *** rail bridges to countries like India. We could dismantle them, ship, heat treat the steel and re-erect on locations of our choice. For example the Golden Gate could connect Sri Lanka to India. Amtrak with their elevated track sections could go to Saudi Arabia. KSA has been struggling to link their East and West coasts over the dessert. There maybe a lot of bidders for Disney Land. So I leave this open. US could accrue 20 billion from these sales and it will certainly be a change from the usual shipment of used fighter jets sold to these countries not to mention reduced carbon emission and promotion of world peace. A few things wrong with this. 1. It's unlikely that India would buy our scrap steel for their bridges. If they could afford bridges they'd make them, and for less than the cost of shipping and refurbishing our leftovers. 2. In your Saudi Arabia example, once the tracks get shipped away, we'd have to replace them. The tracks actually help hold the railway land rights, and without tracks they'd be hard-pressed to justify their ownership. Also, it's unlikely Saudi Arabia would buy hand-me-down tracks when they've got their own $trillions to buy world-leading railways, if they wanted them. 3. Lastly, even if the US sold $20 billion in scrap metal, that's not even a month's interest payment on the national debt.

If they could afford bridges they'd make them, and for less than the cost of shipping and refurbishing our leftovers. steel scrap is valued by re-rolling mills and is an unlisted export item. But you are right, we are talking about used girders and refurbishing them, i.e., heat treatment for stress relieving, etc; takes technology - not in general trade 2. In your Saudi Arabia example, once the tracks get shipped away, we'd have to replace them.... KSA is getting price sensitive. They are concerned their oil may run out faster than projections. 3. What the guy said was 'not a penny more' and smartly forgot to complete the sentence with 'not a penny less' either. In other words, existing tax structure remains unchanged for those under 400K. From a guy who promised to increase minimum wages what else can one expect

I can't for the life of me comprehend what it is about the concept WIN and LOSE that you Trump cultists don't understand. BIDEN WON & TRUMP LOST it's that simple and no amount of searching for bamboo fiber or Jewish space lazers is going to change that. We're not 5 years old and just because you don't like being on the losing side in the real world you don't get to pretend you won. Our military people swear an oath to uphold and defend the constitution not some would be dictator. Or, perhaps because the script writers in DC could not be contacted for a revised speech.
