Looks like we're going back into lockdown soon, after they decide what form it should take, so that should destroy what's left of the economy.

Doesn't seem much like lockdown in my town! People are out everywhere shopping and doing things as usual. Lots of traffic and people enjoying the Beautiful weather here!

Here in the UK the Coronavirus is on the increase, and people are not following the rules regarding isolating according to a recent study , as reported by the BBC. I think following the rules got difficult in this area specifically because when tourists came during the summer no one gave a chit about anything. The local people did, and had done all that time. But the tourists, Germans especially, didn't give a chit and wouldn't keep the 1,5m distance at all, not even if you yourself did. Government also allowed for more so that the local camping owners and restaurants etc. could make their money as they were protesting. I think that's when a lot of people here thought, FU!! Then government tried to make things stricter again when tourist season was over and we have to go back to face masks, this and that is forbidden again and so on. I also feel like, FU! When it's about tourists and money it's okay... I guess it wasn't really that way, just a bad coincidence that it started getting worse after tourist season. But I still have difficulty getting myself in the mindset of abiding by the rules. But then this... I asked my osteopath just now about it all, what she thought. And she said that the aftermath of having had Covid is way worse than a normal flu. Even athletes and young people -so fit people- who had it like in April are still NOT fit now! Wow... That is a shocker to hear. And if you also had pneumonia with it there IS permanent damage. Okay, hearing that helps me to think about the rules and the implications of this virus. Things are getting worse here fast too. Thousands of new cases a day.

He knows politics That story on Sweden is spread time and again but it isn't true. Sweden had/has lockdown but the rules seem more easy-going, but the difference is that Swedes don't need strict rules. They are far more laid-back and just follow rules. Not because they're thick and meek but because it's the sane thing to do for themselves and their fellow countryman's health. Swedes ALWAYS stay home from work or school when they have a cold even! They're a far different people and when people use their brain instead of their ego no strict rules are required. They DID however have lockdown of certain things and rules for public gatherings, restaurants & pubs, and so on. School for teens and up have been closed there too. In spite of that they DID/DO have approx as many cases as for instance The Netherlands. Just not so much in the northern regions because few live there. It's mostly concentrated in the southern area where the cities are as well. I happen to know all this because a Dutch acquaintance of mine lives in Sweden with her husband. . . .

OT - Stricter rules again as of tomorrow evening 22:00. Wonderful. A FB friend had to get tested last week and she was still in serious pain some 8 hrs later. They go way to deep in the nose. She had posted a photo of her eye. It had a red bruise in the white of her eye corner. They'd gone that deep & that hard with the probing thing. Totally ridiculous and totally unnecessary. WTF are they hoping to achieve by this?

I don't know Crystal; I've been tested 4 times in the last 3 months and it's not comfortable but the discomfort only lasts a couple of seconds and I've never had any after or adverse effects. There was something on FB the other day that they indeed do the test very very deep which is totally not necessary. It is weird, as a friend of mine did have it and she had to get tested. She was mailed a test and did it herself. In the front of the nose or throat is just fine. You don't need to go that deep. And they do that to kids too. Apparently they (have to) poke through some membrane. Why I don't know, it's not needed to test for the/a virus at all. Them doing that has been all over the news on social media. And no, not something someone made up. As I said, it happened to someone I know... This woman on FB -someone I know, not some stranger- seriously had a bruise in her eye. And if they are that rough... the eye is pretty close to the depth of the nasal cavity/nose.

To sample viral DNA ..The covid PCR swab needs to hit the posterior nasopharyngeal wall .. for the majority of people this is an unpleasant sensation . ..in some circumstances the oropharyngeal can be sampled but this for many would stimulate the gag reflex and sampling is likely to be suboptimal unless a heavy viral load is present .
