Thinking... restaurants will probably be insanely busy! Especially today, it being the first day they're allowed to open up again -with restrictions that I expect won't be met- and it being Whit Monday and glorious weather.
There are chitloads of tourists here and I'm sure they all want to go to a restaurant.

I wonder how many will get disappointed as they have to keep space between tables so not on top of each other as usual. And restaurants can only accept customers who made reservations.
And I believe they only do 2 sets of times for dinner to prevent a constant coming and going of people.

They opened up Missouri at the beginning of last month but still have stringent restrictions for restaurants limiting them to 25% capacity. Many of the restaurants decided to stay closed, if they didn't have take-out/delivery abilities because they couldn't run in the black with those limits instituted. Many of the event venues down in Branson were also complaining about opening up and not being able to fill enough seats to break even. The news was interviewing people and most expressed surprise that there were not more people out and about.

Many here also do take-away now, but I have no idea whether or not they can stay in the black. I'd say it's better to open with limiting capacity than closed as they don't make anything at all when closed while certain costs do continue as normal. Like having to pay part of employees wages, rent/mortgage etc.

We do have many more people here now as this is a tourist area. THE biggest tourist area of the country, apart from Amsterday which is more day-tourists, here is where they spend their holiday ==> weeks on the campsite, going to the beaches.
During the seasons there's thousands more tourist here than regular people and I believe as of today campsites are allowed to have more tourist % as well. It was already crazy, it'll only get worse now.
They've been doing take aways, from Chinese, Indians, etc, here in Scotland, since the last two months. I should know, as I'm phoning them about 4 times a week, for me and my son. :joy::joy::joy::thumbsup:

Many restaurants, chip shops, Chinese, etc have done that too. Including restaurants that normally don't do delivery or take-away.

OT - Today only 103 new cases! I hope it continues to go down, I cannot wait for it to drop below 100 and to stay there and then peter out further.

Just went out to pay bills and the lobby at the city hall was closed till July 6th. Paid by vacuum tube. Posted notice says court is postponed till July 7th.
Everyplace else I went was business as usual.
Only a few people wearing masks.

11th day of no new cases for New Zealand Still just one active case remains .

Several large protests around New Zealand this week. , In support of George Floyd .. social distancing went out the window lol ... as did gathering restrictions of 100 max .

56 avatar film crew recently arrived from America .(quietly lol) . currently in quarantine . My country seems a little divided on not only whether this should have been allowed but also questions being asked on why nz should subsidise wealthy American film production when we have our own very talented film producers (Taika for one ).

Will be interesting to see if any new cases develop. Govt continue making plans for early move to alert level 1.

Some retail shops now open after lockdown and recently shown on the news here in the UK. A queue to enter an IKEA store, only 1 person allowed in, no groups, to maintain the social distance of 2 meters between people inside the store. There were over a thousand people waiting to enter, and the queue outside the store was over 2 kilometres long, well over a mile long. We are all going to need a lot of patience here when we go out shopping, and for the foreseeable future in my opinion.

Why are you saying that's happening here in the UK? It's not, it's only happening in England, not Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. If you don't believe me try driving up here to Scotland, for a shopping trip and you'll be turned back around again at the border by the Scottish Police and probably fined also. If the English Government, want to go back to normal ASAP and not use common sense about the highly potential chance of a 2nd wave of the Coronavirus, sweeping the Country, then that's their mistake. It doesn't mean we should follow their lead like lost Sheep and go down that road also? The Scottish Government stated that we've got to remain on lockdown just now, to minimise the effects of another wave of this striking the Country. Boris Johnson, is playing Russian Roulette, with the population again and he's not got a good track record when he does that, judging by the amount of people that's died here in the UK, because of his and his Governments incompetence!

The Covid-19 story is dead in America.

Oh, the media are still parroting numbers, but all the passion for the topic has gone out of their eyes. It won't last much longer before it's a forgotten topic. Unless all this protester commingling brings out a new wave of black death for the country.

It's all protests all the time now. That's the new crisis that has them looking like Mr. Dithers from The Simpsons.

The Media knows they need to rabble-rouse the black community to come out and support Joe Biden and this is their key to get them to the polls. He really hasn't been doing a good job of exciting them to action, that's why all the talk about putting a black woman on the ticket as VP. Now they need to hide his latest blunder. On May 22nd, Joe Biden told a black radio host that β€œif you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” remarks his campaign characterized as joking but that some black Democrats said were dismissive of their concerns. https://www.wsj.com/articles/joe-biden-to-black-radio-host-if-youre-deciding-between-me-or-trump-then-you-aint-black-11590166629

YEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!! We got there!!! Below 100 for the first time since approx March 10!
WOWZA!
Belgium only 70!

UK also seems to very slowly improve.

Sweden is following a totally weird pattern though? Going from 272 one day to some 2500 the next? That's what their graph has looked like for some time now. Odd.

Two weeks for nz and not a single new case .. still just one active case .

We are now five days into winter :snowflake: :snowflake: .. Usually our busiest season of the year . Still unclear if covid is seasonal and more prevalent in winter .. hopefully we will have the answer to that question in the coming months :-)

Well done you Kiwis:thumbsup:Scotland, has had no new cases now for the past two days. It's not much, but it's a step in the right direction though. Just shows that our Social distancing rules, (which are tougher than England's) are taking effect in some way! drinker
