Frankly, I don't care.
Everything I thought was important to life is a lie.
But thats not why I smoke.
I smoke because I am weak.
I smoke because I have always smoked.
My addiction is far beyond my own control.
If I knew of a soution, I would use it.
Problem is, no matter what I try, the Universe works against it.
I am destined to die with a cigarette in my hand.
Whether this is poetic or devine is anyones guess?

..hmmmm... sounds a little self-defeating... if you really want to quit you will quit.. but you need to want to quit.. Anything is Possible

So.. how is quitting smoking going,..
For me.. some days better than others..
I'm trying to keep focused on having a pack last me at least 4 days... although I'm under a lot of stress lately which is not helping..lol.. I have to keep reminding myself that quitting is the best thing..for me... I can do this!! I will do this!!.. I got this!! .. they say put the money you save not buying smokes.. in your savings... good idea..but typically what happens is that money gets spent elsewhere... the reality is at least you will have that extra income for whatever.. money is funny that way.. the more you try to save.. the more expenses crop up..lol

I'm also trying to make a pack of rolling tobacco last 4 days. I was making that, unfortunately not anymore at the mo. I'm not giving up though.
Somehow vaping doesn't do it for me at the moment.

Blondey, it's not so much about the nicotine out of your body. That takes only 48 hours. You get sick as a dog if you go cold turkey and are a heavy smoker, but then after 2-3 days that is done.
The REAL problem is the emotional/psychological/mental addiction part. What that comes down to is getting to the reason you are addicted.
If you don't address that you'll either go for something else (drinking, eating, getting stressed out or whatever) or you'll start smoking again.

It does help to smoke outdoors as then you're in the light. When you need a smoke, you actually need light. Life-energy. Light IS life energy.
Which again ties in with the: WHY do you need to smoke/be addicted? What's behind it? Because that reason is what is blocking the light coming in.

I'm not doing cold turkey ever again. Did that once, f*(k was I sick and devoid of energy. I know that's only 2-3 days of feeling totally miserable, but it were about the worst 2-3 days of my entire life!
So I rather wean myself off it first. Then I can quit in one go without getting sick.
I did quit years ago, for 3 years, with ease, but I was not smoking so much then. Didn't get sick at all, nor put on weight. That's where I'm trying to get by seriously cutting back first.

Or you do what I do and think "OH I'm going to save this amount, so I can now buy XYZ!"
Then buy XZY but continue to smoke, meaning it cost you 2x as much. That's what I did in the past, hahaha.
I don't think you should put it into savings but in a pot. And be adamant about NOT touching it for X amount of time.

You can get a .xyz domain for around $10 per year. I would stick with the .com as much as possible, or similar for your country, depending on your sites purpose. Always choose the most appropriate domain. If your website is for a non-profit organization, you would go with .org or the ".org" of your country. If you're not a non-profit or commercial site, ".net" would be the most appropriate choice.

Generally, I would avoid the new TLDs and gTLDs as much as possible. Stick with the most valuable and authoritative ones. This helps give you the best impression as well as the best SEO, as Google and such will index you better.

I hate cigarettes :smoking: 🀒

I'm an ex smoker 9 years ,first time I quit I went 8 years then like a moron started back up for a year and half , went cold turkey both times patch didn't work for me when I tried to quit before I could smoke with the patch on. Some people suck on hard candy or lollipops, had friends who did acupressure and that worked for them also hypnosis . It's a hard habit to quit but so worthwhile when you do,you'll save money and your health will improve , stay busy ,maybe join a gym the benefits of quitting smoking are many.

I smoked for over 50 years and before I quit was up to 2 packs and with few beer 3 packs. Chain smoking. Finances and health drove me to see Dr and we decided to give Chamtrix (Chantrix USA) medication a try. I did not set a quit date as he recommended to avoid self-imposed stress. Told me to start with half pill twice daily. After week increased to full pill twice daily. In two weeks time I lost interest to smoke but had the habit of sucking on something for morning tea, beer etc. So added vape with no nicotine. After 18 days had my last cigarette and April 1st will be 3 years. I continued the complete 12 week course.

Side affects: For me really none to mention, except some nice weird dreams sometimes.

Pros - No morning cough, all good. I have a lot more money in my pocket. Not supporting tobacco companies or government anymore. When quit pack of large kingsize was $13.50 per pack (Canadian)

Cons - gained 17 Kg, and still fighting to lose but only be able to get a few kg off so far. Now got serious and lost 1 kg week for the last 3 weeks. Still vape from time to time - no nicotine. Pills can be pricey - think it worked out to about $3.50 per day over the 12 weeks. Damn good investment.

Pretending it is a mountain stream, for 1 minute (or more), standing under the shower with the knob cranked all the way to COLD. At some point in your shower. As a daily pilgrimage or whenever you take a shower. May help adapt the brain quicker.

Honestly if you don't have the desire to Quit you will not.. One has to be able to focus on a reason to quit.. I myself enjoyed my cigs down to the taste.. like a drug that keeps calling ya back~~~

I still believe in the Cold Turkey method.. Everyone is different...

I quit 16 years ago this last Jan...I was smoking 2-3 packs a day... I know that is hard for some to believe.. I worked in a office where I could smoke due to I was the only one in the office.. and the Owner smoked too..

The only reason I quit was due to my first grand daughter was born a preemie. At the time my son and his gf lived with me.. And yes I smoked in the house...

When she was born they wheeled her out of the room pretty fast due to she was turning blue.. She was under a oxygen tent for a week.. The Dr. came out and asked where she would be living? I said with me...he said does anyone smoke in the house? I told him yes I did he then proceeded to tell me that in no way shape or form would her little lungs take the smoke she weighed just a little over 5lbs..

I went out in the yard and lite up... I knew there was no way I would smoke outside for he had told me even if I did I would need to take a shower prior to holding her.. So while she was in the hospital I vowed to lay them down.. I did within 3 days... and have never had the desire to pick them up again.. Best thing I ever did...

Also each month after figuring out what I spent on cigs took a 1/3rd of what I would have spent and splurged on something I wanted.. Did that for about 6 months as a reward..

Ohh and I also took big straws cut them the length of a cig to hold when I wanted one and popped in a peppermint in my mouth at the same time.. It helped with the hand to mouth motion you are use to while smoking...

Good luck ~~~ if you really want to quit you can... have a goal/reason it sure helps..

I like the straw idea, I am going to try it.

I am trying to ween myself down.
Cold turkey didn't work because I am addicted after 50 years non-stop.
It's flat out amazing how my need to smoke has impacted my life decisions.
Now I think my reaction to smoking is allergenic.
I have all the symptoms of someone having a really bad allergic reaction.
That is driven home by the fact that the patches cause me to break out.

Chantex works for some people.
Sandoz & Bupropion works for some people.
I can't take them because of the side effects.

I feel my only option is to ween myself down but I need to ween my compulsion more than my physical addiction.
So technically, I am working on two factors and losing horribly.

Giving up tobacco smoke will likely add 5 to 10 years to your life. Nicotine it’s self is not carcinogenic, and the physical health effects of vapor are relatively harmless compared to tobacco smoke. That said, it is not spiritually healthy to be mentally addicted to a substance. It is too distracting to the grander things in life. I think the tobacco industry puts just enough tobacco in each cigarette to keep people addicted.

I stay away from things that are stronger than me, vapor included.

I likened vaping to smoking a pipe.
I had to concentrate on holding it like a pipe.
(I used to smoke a pipe)

My son suggested I try "Blue".
I am hestitant about transferring one compulsion to another, tho.
"The lesser of two evils is still evil".

The patches were working but my body wasn't cooperating.
I've tried keeping my pack out in the truck but I was constantly making trips to the truck.

I smoke without thinking.
I tried to make myself think about it but end up out of cigarettes as a suprise.
When I was on the patch and not smoking, I felt better.
I don't think my body NEEDS the nicotine.
I think its mostly an auto-reflex.
I buy cigarettes on impulse.

If I don't have the money I can go without them.
If I am somewhere I can't smoke, I can go without them.
Problem is, I never run out of money and I never stay where I can't smoke.
I could put No Smoking signs up in my home but I would know its my home and those laws are mine to follow or not.

What I need is to have cigarettes and actively will myself not to smoke them.
That means, when I finally quit, I will be able to stare at a pack of cigarettes and a lighter next to an ashtray and not want to smoke them.
I will be able to stand next to someone smoking and not want one myself.

Tom - Just curious but what you meant when you said that you tried using the patch but your by wasn't cooperating ?
