What do you think when friends tell you: you don't look your age; you look really much younger! Congrats!

For one reason or another; at certain age;many persons look much younger than the majority. No secrets for that. It's the kind of life they follow everyday.

I am used to comments like that. I know, I don't look like 47, but I look after myself quite well ... sort of

Been hearing that since I was of age to buy alcohol and cigarettes. Someone told me that not three days ago. It's flarering but I personally don't have anything to do with it. I don't know how it is but I gladly take the compliment.

My "age" is just a chronological thing. My looks, actions and attitudes don't match that number.

Flattery for old people.
We all look our age but being happy can certainly
mitigate the results of aging.

I have old college roommates that started getting wrinkles
in their 30's which I don't have yet. But they had
LOTS of kids (each a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 12!) so
I find that rather telling..stress levels?

I am happy if you look younger than you feel..maybe
it is nature's way of offering solace :-)

I love it when people claim I don’t look my age. It makes me feel I must be living well.

I’m also not immune to a little vanity either.

When people tell me I don't look my age I tell them it's do to my healthy life style; smoke two packs a day, eat lots of red meat and very few fruits or vegetables, don't exercise, and drink plenty of beer.

I get told that a lot in person. People younger than myself look much older.

It just tells me they have no idea how I age.
At 72 my dad still had a full head of hair.

I get that a lot too. And when I myself look at women younger than me, most indeed tend to look older than me and thus their own age.
These days I see young women already getting these lines on their upper lip? SOmetimes even women who aren't even 30! Not deep lines yet, but they're there for sure.
Lot of women with not really good looking / bad skin, and most get wrinkles when in their very early 40s.

I sometimes wonder why that is. Maybe my genes are particularly good, but I think much has to do with food as well. I was reared on home-grown food (no pesticides) from eggs/chicken, veggies and potatoes, to fresh unprocessed milk from a farmer behind us, the milk often still warm. Years of health-food when my dad went nuts with that, lol.
But I think that helped a lot, having a healthy and solid foundation, almost free from preservatives, pesticides and crap.

Even in those days many began eating crap like cornflakes, white bread, and stuff with preservatives etc in it.

It seems very subjective to what people are used to seeing from people at certain ages. I see alot of people that others think look 'young' and I think they look about their age.

Im really poor at guessing age from appearance. Generally, I guess up to thirty if there are no discolorations of bags or wrinkles. I guess in the thirties if there are only a few isolated discolorations. I guess in the forties if there are discolorations and bags, and over 50 if there are wrinkles, especially around the eyes. Beyond that, very wrinkled and uneven complexions generally have me guessing at least 60s, while those things coupled with hunched posture take my guess to seventy.

I've got my white hair very early (22 YO), so i always looked older, but now by the 43 YO they will give me late 30s.

But it always depends on the heart, you even have old or young HEART. happiness and joy are the KEY to stay EVER young
