So true, my friends and especially appropriate when viewing the 'fundamentalists' as having usurped the very meaning and intent of 'fundamentalism'.

But the knowledge that is not wrong is that God made Satan.

If you dont want to listen, you will see, dont be so certain on somthing that require you to think out of your senses. Cause when the end of time comes, it will reveal all that by this time, it will be too late.

When did you stop believing in Jesus Rabbit?

I don't know If I can put a hard date on it. I realized somewhere in my 20's that miracles do not happen, not now and so they did not happen in the past either. That meant that Jesus never rose from the dead. I was feeling guilty about this until I heard a Liberal pastor debate a conservative one and that liberal pastor believed all the things I did and backed them up with the bible. So that made me feel good and I made peace with the church for quite a while. However as time as move forward and the "church" has been tied closer and closer to the republican party and conservatism. It makes me sick. Jesus wouldn't fight a war, he wouldn't back the death penalty, he wouldn't torture people.
Just like any journey it was much more complicated then this. I am also a huge believer in the scientific method. Watching the Church fight obvious truths like evolution. That is just creepy. Or having the church lie about how effective sex education is so that they can put in a dangerous abstinence program that is increasing unwanted pregnancies, sexual transmitted diseases and abortions. My x-wife still raises my kids in the Church and I respect her wishes on things like that. I am not as far from Christ as you might think. I do feel that it is obvious that when Jesus talks about the poor and the meek and the peace makers he is not talking about the USA. We are the opposite end of that. If you wanna see the real poor move into the middle of Africa. There are people there that are abused daily by war lords, made to run and hide with their children hoping to survive to the next day. That is what I think Jesus was talking about. The least, the poor, the powerless.

I can definatly respect such an answer, thank-you for sharing that, my assumptions were a little different of you based on posts i have read.

Rabbit you realize the material "Church" is not run by God nor Jesus, but ran by man? "Church" is more spiritual than actually material.

I had a similar problem, took me 3 years

Thank you rabbit....that was awesome to read. I like to see this other side of you refreshing....as we both know that there are many sides to each of us. I too feel for the poor of this world. And I am not the kind of person to sit back and just let it be. I have been to many poor countries to help. I will be going to India in February to build a church, an orphanage, a water well and most important to meet and speak with the people. Thanks again for showing a tender, softer, side of the rabbit...
