It seems after a certain age , we are told we are too old for so many things.
Too old to party in the clubs Too old to get new piercings and tats Too old to wear that youthful outfit Too old to date someone of a certain age And yet we see mature celebrities like madonna and cher who continue to defy every single box that society tries to confine them to. QUESTION 1. Now that you re older , do you think there is anything you are too old for? 2. Do you refuse to participate in any activities or habits because society considers you too old? |

I am 34 and feel like I am too old for body glitter. Also those tiny butterfly clips. Maybe I am too old to wear two braids on my hair.

Humm at 58 I say no we are never too old to do what we want to..
I still go to the clubs to listen to live bands with friends and party the night away... Even thou the recovery time is much longer for me now hahaha~~~ I just don't go as often as I use to but still enjoy it... If there was something I wanted to do when I was younger and did not get to I'm doing what I can to do them now... In the last 8 years been scuba diving, parasailing, Zip lining through the Jungle in Belize, cave tubing and a few other adventures fixing to do my 5th Cruise in August... Also just went and took motorcycle classes just because I wanted to.. no bike yet and who knows I might get one still... If I had the money those celebrities have I would be going on a lot more adventures for sure~~~~ Just cause you get older does not mean those things are off limits... |

been to a few concerts at the casino near by
not sure if I would still enjoy the big arenas and the big crowds I get a bit miffed shopping the malls around Christmas find myself grumbling about crowds, lines, parking used to love roller coaster rides now not so much...I will hold the drinks and cameras, phones as the kids go on them has my fashion changed as I aged? yes, gone are the days of big hair and mini-skirts..though I still own one pair of black boots I still wear blue jeans but I do not really go in for the ripped kind anymore I don't really think of anything as off-limts more like I have evolved |

I think we just grow with it, as it has been said, not so much of it,and a bit longer to recover, the minds willing but the flesh is weak

No. I do whatever I feel comfy with. The only time I had second thoughts about certain outfits was because of my kids. It had to do with being on stage -I like to dress up for that, and the way I dress up is gothic and as sexy as I can get away with without shocking ppl, lol. And my kids were there for the gig too, participated in it themselves. THeir mates were there too and I knew they felt awkward about me not looking like a Coronation Street mom.
I recently turned 51, and I wear and/or do whatever I like, which reflects how I feel. I'm not one of those ppl who thinks the best part of their life is over. I feel quite the opposite: the best part of my life has only just begun! I finally care less about what other ppl think or say, and I finally met the man I really want and am over the moon happy with. I feel young, sexy, vibrant, I look good, so why the heck would I act and/or dress differently? |

The older celebrities offer us inspiration and validation that our life is continuing and we are still vibrant.. When I saw cher in that hot outfit belting her lungs out at the billboard music awards, looking delectable at the age of 71, I said to myself. " Go get it girl!!! " |

1. Now that you re older , do you think there is anything you are too old for? Yes. One cannot be an Air Traffic Controller after the age of 34 (starting out.) 2. Do you refuse to participate in any activities or habits because society considers you too old? Yes. Bathing suits.. No one wants to see that. |

Too old for - NO Not healthy enough or too wise for - Yes 2. Do you refuse to participate in any activities or habits because society considers you too old?
Considering that I feel society is insane I really don't care what society thinks. I have never 'not done something' I wanted because I was considering that it may 'look' "Too Old" for society. In my mind I am not old. My body is another matter. When I was younger, I could drop the tailgate of my truck and jump in the back with no problem. Now that I am older, if I tried it, I would wreck myself and fall on my face. I AM too old to continue that behavior. I still know how to do it but my body isn't able. With age comes wisdom. Many of the things I used to do that I do not do anymore is because I gained wisdom. I don't exist to please society. |

I actually hadn't thought about that. If money-less and fame-less me, decided to sport a micro mini at the mall, at age 71, the kids in my country would be traumatized |

I kick myself everyday for not taking a motor ride with my brother when he went through a brief biking phase But like you, I plan to avail myself of every adventure that my conscience (and the law ) will allow. I just have to man up to all the judgey stares I will get from my family and my god kids who will no doubt disown me |

Why caring about what people will think in first place?

But maybe we can both try the "cher" look for Halloween! |
