Topic: Are You Too Old For Anything? | |
---|---|
The one subtle caveat I see connected with this, is that there are some things that a person can do, which are functionally RUDE for them to do. It can happen at any age, but some things are age-affected to the extent that the real problem can be that you are too old for them.
There are lots of things that children do for fun, for example, which society might frown upon adults trying to enjoy, though it's truly harmless when they do. Skipping rope or playing with some other toy, may get other grownups whispering or pointing and laughing at you, but it's harmless past that. But you can be way too old to try to COMPETE with other peoples' children, doing the same things. Oh, and the one thing that I consider universally true is, that everyone over the recognized mental age of five, is never excused for using the "they did it first!" excuse for their negative behavior. |

I was going to say I'm too old to wear onesies, but I just googled it and they have onesies for adults Really cute sexy ones too Like most here, I don't think I'm too old for anything. I may be 55 in years, but my heart and mind says I'm a lot younger. I believe we are never too old to do the things we desire. But I also believe that as we get older, sometimes there are limitations due to health reasons or the body just not wanting to cooperate as well. There are things I wouldn't do that I did when I was younger, but mostly because I'm not interested in it anymore, not because I think I'm too old. Tmom refers to it as having evolved. I think you re on the same page Piscesmoon :) PS: Im getting a sexy onesie if you are I'll let you know when I do Its a deal! Pisceemoon :) |

now days age is not important is how u feel inside and out wear what u want and date who u like life is to short girl enjoy it at what ever age u are have blessed day Thanks menou! The fact that there are people in their 70s still dating /marrying, still working out , sharp as a tac mentally and still productive workers makes me think that there is only a very small list of the things mature people cant do. Most of the things we deem as age limitations are more societal constructs than reality |

Although,in some instances the scenario of older people competing eith younger ones can appear tacky , and downright embarrassing for the mature person, i dont see any harm in them doing it especiàlly when they exceed the younger people's expectations. But I get what you are saying about character traits at an older age . From THAT standpoint, people are too old for a lot of unprincipled behavior that they should have theoretically mastered at that age |

At 68 I tour on a Harley, drive Corvettes, and play blues on my Strat, among other activities. Not quitting anything because friends and relatives think I'm too old for those.
A thirty-inch waist also may help. |

I just turned 44, and I can truthfully say the following...
1. I am in the best shape of my life and getting better. 2. I am smarter in that I do dumb things from time to time and I learn from them. 3. I am more sexual at my age. However, for a woman to see this she has to truly want to know me. 4. I have no idea how much longer I will be here on this Earth, so why would I set limits on myself? Basically....yes....there are things I feel I am too old for. Not to mention I don't want to do something "extreme" unless I feel I am ready for it. I just don't get the urge to go snow skiing unless I know what I am doing. I want to be 60 and I want to be healthy enough to run on the beach at sunrise...to travel to another country and not be in pain.....to laugh and enjoy it as if I was still a young man. There may be limits to my life but I set them. Other than that...I am wide open....so be warned. |

Peggy,
Yes, look at Cher, when you have that type of finance behind you, the best medical treatment on tap, the odd little nip and tuck when things are moving in the wrong direction, and that type of lifestyle afforded to you, then yes-you can look wonderful as the years pile on, but life is more important than that, it's how you think and relate to people, don't get fooled by the wealthy clothes horse, because if you haven't got the where withall as mentioned above, then as you get older you are going to be very disappointed, enjoy where you are now |
