Topic: Put Your Boots On! Pull Your Pants Up! | |
---|---|
Describe to me how you've overcome odds and gotten things DONE!
-attacked that messy garage -got your education while working 17.4 jobs -woke up and faced the day despite your funk -got the kids to school with all their homework and limbs in tact -did the dishes after your house party ...you get the idea, How did you Rock it? |

Just realized something about the topic...
(not necessarily in that order...pull your pants up first) |

Jus' get'er done

Never mind, she must've just wanted me to get out of there real quick.
Otherwise she would've said, "Keep your boots on, and pull your pants down!" |

I've found that my initiative is not an outfit that I put on for any task.
I'm driven to accomplishment by different factors at different times. I use my entire wardrobe in different combinations to achieve different goals. For professional goals I might combine a sports jacket with slacks and running shoes to meet a deadline. For casual goals I might wear shorts with boots on. Many times my routine tasks are more tee shirt, sweats and bare feet. Then there are the auto-tasks that are done naked. As I master something my clothes fall off. After 30 years of working on trucks many of my tasks came so naturally I required no thought to get-r-done. I remember when our trucks started coming with computer controls. It required learning a new procedure and I tackled that by dressing fully professional. As I mastered it, my clothes again started to fall off. |

oddly I tackle things because of two reasons :
1. As a christian, Jesus example of dying on the cross, puts in perspective how 'small' my struggles are. and 2. I have the motivation of a cute little face looking at me everyday and believing that the world revolves around me I know my actions and words set an example for her so I endure and try to set the best examples I can. |

Have a cup of tea and get on with it!
Well you can't do anything in the UK without having a cuppa and think it out first |

I worked once for a solid year of 10-12 hour days.
Just to buy my first house. At 25 I finally did after organizing everything over about 4 years time. Well worth it :-) |

Oh Geez Pancho/lu I don't have any answers.
I appreciate the posts about a strong work ethic, action according to moral perameters, and even the simple (but true) "Nike response" (Just Do it, GeterDone, etc.). One common denominator I have seen in friends with forms of depression, starting an exercise program, or huge project is....."the first step." I hear it time and again when someone just doesn't feel like moving...if they force themselves, after some time (say randomly an hour)...they find their groove and feel better for doing it. |

I would suggest , be realistic !
It is good to have goals in your life. Set a goal that is reachable, you will archive the positive feedback of accomplishments. Otherwise , It only brings you failure and consequences of depression, which explains the nightmares you have been in. double post |

Depending on what it is, I wait till I have no other choice. For instance doing my tax return, it has to be sent in before a certain date. I put it off as long as I can.
I have a problem dealing with things I have to do. When I have to do them, I get this resistance coming up. I hate being told what to do, even by chores, hihi |
