If you have read every single word in the Bible, haven't you found anything that is not true?

Manami,
I haven't read every single word, but I have study apologetics. I have seen many, if not all of the supposed contradictions in the Bible. There is only one verse that I'm aware of that troubles me at all, but I'm willing to take it at faith. |

I think you can never say that there's god because you studied something. It is not called "Studying" it's "being brainwashed". Christian faith contains magic, as the Bible says. Santa is magical. Adam and Eve is magical.

“If you have read every single word in the Bible, haven't you found anything that is not true?” I’d just like to remind you that you started this thread “To Christian People”. So it’s highly unlikely that you will find many Christians who will admit to finding things in the Bible that aren’t true. After all, most people who realize that the book has inconsistencies and contradictions, usually just toss it aside and move on to another belief system. I do feel qualified to say that I used to be a Christian. I was born and raised as a Christian in a very devoted Christian family. Several of my uncles were preachers. In fact, I was actually going to become a preacher myself. It was during that time that I began to ask questions. I only asked them because I wanted to be able to answer any questions that potential students might put to me. I fully expected that the Bible would answer every question I could possibly ask. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened. On the contrary I began to realize that none of my question were being answer and the book was just a circular story with no real explanations of the question that most people would ask. I also found that it contained an endless number of inconsistencies and contradictors, but with real world observations, and within it’s own stories. Therefore I had no choice by to reject the religion. Thus I am no longer a Christian. But I was at one time. I do still believe in god. I just found a much better picture of god that makes much more sense than the Biblical picture and isn’t full of contradictions and inconsistencies. |

Yes I believe what's written in the bible, and that it is inspired by God.

"I think you can never say that there's god because you studied something."
But could you say there's a God for other reasons? Like personal experience? |

“I think you can never say that there's god because you studied something.” I think this also depends on how you define “god”. If you think of God as being something like the Wizard of Oz, then you are thinking of God as being a totally separate entity that lives somewhere over the rainbow. However, if you think of god in terms of being the spirit of the universe, then you can know god directly. You are the spirit of the universe. No need to look to any fairytales. You can “study” the universe (which is the same as studying god of course). Just look around and see what you are part of. See how you interact with it, and learn that the boundaries that you thought separated you from it were never really anything more than an illusion. Then you come to the realization that you have always been one with god and you are home again. So you *can* study god directly, once you realize what god is. But you’ll probably be lost forever if you think that god exists somewhere over the rainbow and can only be found in a book like the Wizard of Oz. |
