Does being nice get you anywhere in this world?

My heart says it should. My brain says it doesn't. I try to be nice, I want to be nice. Then it seems I pay, lol!

Does being nice get you anywhere in this world? Hell no.. Only to a blood relative in case someone needs a kidney... Sorry God, but I'm not seeing it. Most people interpret 'nice' as 'doormat' & when you stand your ground.. your then a 'b*tch" |

No disrespect meant Ma'm, I know I'm not as wise as you, but please always listen to your heart, your head thinks too much whereas your heart doesn't, I know most of the time your head will be right, but the one time your heart is correct will make it all worth while. |

I am nice and I am appreciated for it. It works for me. You need to find a fine balance between nice and not taking **** from anyone.

Pays off to me. I can't control how others react. I feel good being a good person and doing my best. Someone wants to take advantage then that is on them....not me. I can walk away from them

I enjoy being nice, it's part of who I am. But when I nicely and sweetly explain to the people who send me mail here that I don't give my phone number out to someone I just started talking to and they insist and ask several MORE times I want to beat them with a big stick. There, I said it!

I love being nice, and yes it does feel great but it honestly doesn't get you anywhere in this world. You have to be assertive, not necessarily aggressive.

From what I understand of being nice, the people who are "best" at being nice don't worry about what other people think of it - they are nice for their own sake. Then, if being nice goes unappreciated or ignored, they still feel good about it.

No, no it doesn't.
That being said, you sleep a lot better. |

Sorry, crap statement, being nice is dangerous for those who want to take the piss out of your kindness, because what goes around comes around, ten fold |

In my opinion as a rule it is better to be nice, as a negative action creates a negative reaction. Life is too short to constantly fight your way thru the whole thing.
But you also need to know when being nice is not the best course of action. And you have to take that road if needed A lot depends on the type of person you are dealing with |

I don't alter the way I am according to it "paying off" or not. I'm just me. Usually nice. Take it or leave it.

Does being nice get you anywhere in this world? Yes. No one can pin anything on you. |
