Nice guys finish last, and being nice tends to make people think they can take advantage of you....

BUT...I still treat everyone with courtesy and respect because I have not idea what they have had to deal with in their life.

Be nice because that's the person you want to be don't look for a pay off

I think being nice pays off most of the time. When I am on line in a store and the person in front of me is rude to the cashier, it gets me annoyed. There is no reason for it. I recently broke my arm and going to the hospital and clinic trying to see if I could get some financial assistance. I told the woman there that I was having problems writing and I was in pain and needed help. She did everything for me. If I went there and was impolite, she might not have made the time for me. Little things pay off.

Ha ha ha ha....I second the motion...It is good to be a good samaritan but in the world of reality, it is somehow impossible except in rare cases or exceptional ones...You just got to watch your shoulders against the abusive ones most especially the Scammersss!!! I hate them to the Bonessss!!!

Being nice is a wonderful thing you could do to people around you who needs someone to brighten up their day. It's a thing that you do naturally because that is what's in your heart and it doesn't expect something in return but it does pay off yes, as a fulfiiling reward knowing that you have touched the lives of others by your goodness or kindness or just simply being nice, approachable, with a ready smile on your face all the time, accomodating, friendly, easy to talk to or get along with and always ready to lend a helping hand. And without expectation, people will warm up to you, do the same and feel grateful to you for being nice. You will definitely win a good friend, except to those who are opportunists of course. Some will take advantage of you, but it's not your lost, it's their lost for you have pure joy in your heart for doing what you want to do

Being nice to everyone could be a difficult task because some people are rude and mean. Some people would step all over you. Even kick you when you're down. If a nice person fought back, would that person still be considered nice? Yes, I do. So kudos to nice people.
