It seems to be the opposite. Jesus taught that good deeds should be done secretly, or something like that. Notice how the rich and famous like to make a show of it whenever they do a good deed. They get their reward.

Does being nice pay off..?....depends on what you hope to gain I suppose...myself...I am nice to everyone..and I usually go to sleep at night knowing I made at least one person smile that day...it takes less energy to smile and be polite...getting mad and rude can be draining...and mean people seem to age faster...I might not get much out of being nice...but I do get peace of mind and happy thoughts so nice it is...hope ya all have a wonderful day..
