What would you see as a reasonable dress code for a first date for yourself? A general idea of the date would be helpful. I have seen a wide variety of "looks" and wondered what should be expected.

Oh, I'm afraid to touch on this sacred subject, lol.

Still, I like casual first dates like easy strolls, or small games of whatever that allow for conversation and introductions (I actually kind of like it if all my dates accomplish that). So dress code for the first date- casual. Specifically clothing-wear that is flattering but leaves a good deal to the imagination. Tastefully attractive clothes, there we go. Tastes differ I suppose, but I always prefer some level of decency.

Depends on where the date is at? I used to hang out with a lot of people who were football casuals over here in the UK. So a bit of their dress code rubbed off on me, which was smart, but always designer gear, no matter where you were going! Fighting at the football afterwards defeated the purpose, as everything would get ripped and ruined. This was over 20 years ago, but those dress smart at all times ideals have stuck with me!

I thought this was kind of a no brainer at least for a guy. You know be clean and well groomed. I've always dressed in a way that suits the occasion and to make sure I look like someone that another wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen out with. Just being presentable is all I've ever had expected of me.

What I expect out of my date. Pretty much the same thing. But depending on circumstances I would hope she would dress for the occasion as well. I also hope she would wear something comfortable. I dress for comfort first so I wouldn't expect her to wear something overly complicated or uncomfortable on my account. Besides that could totally kill a date.

Each person is different. But for me, I usually wear something that's flattering an I'm comfortable in. It also depends on what you are doing.

This

Attractive but still comfortable. I would like to stay warm, so nice if a guy doesn't expect me to turn up in some thin top just to look good, while my lips turn blue and my fingers turn into icicles.

Could be a good look for some?

For women in most instances and occasions this works:

Nice/designed jeans does not have to be expensive.

Plain button up shirt with flattering color

According to the season/weather or occasion either sandals or boots but it is up to the wearer if heels are appropriate.

Accessories are a must!

Could be a good look for some?

True, and with loads of "Walking Dead" fans, chances of men liking it might have improved.
But still, don't think the frozen look would really become me

Would a three piece suit be out of line for a pool party?

I prefer my women wearing nothing.

I dress up 80's style. Parachute pants, a Choose Life t-shirt and some old style Reebok's.

I'd appreciate it if the guy would at least take the time to bathe and put on clean clothes.....I met a guy years ago and I swear to god he'd been in those same clothes for a week.sick

Jeans and a nice shirt. And heels, I always wear heels, unless we are doing something that they are not appropriate for. That's why I like my men 5'11'' or taller  heels make me feel sexy happy

I like I variety of woman, to
very sexual,tramp stamps to T-bars
sticking out of their yoga pants
or painted on jeans to dressing very
reserved.
She is who she is, so you like her
or you don't, generally I would be
happy if they wore Black slacks or
yoga pants with knee high fuzzy top
boots,maybe a long sweater ??
or a tasteful skirt.I care more if
she's my lady, then long sweater NO
bra or G-string showing and speak
when she's spoken to...lol jk
Respecting your partner is respecting
yourself.

for me its much like the woman, location,
located, location. Like going out in Vancouver
you would want to be pretty trendy, All
the woman will look at your dress boots/shoes
If you have a scuff on your boots they wont
even look at you in some places.
I remember going out over there with friend
that moved over from the Island and they would
all polish their boots and dress right up in
Giorgio Armani suits.(players)

Nope I wouldn't. She should wear what she wants to. We would be going out to have fun after all and I wouldn't want to her to put a dampener on that fun. When a person is uncomfortable it shows to those around them. Being uncomfortable also seems to stick into someones mind keeping their mind off of other things on the date. When I go on a date its to have fun while learning about the other person. When people are comfortable they are a lot more open to talk about things besides how uncomfortable or cold they are due to their attire. Hope I cleared that up for ya.smokin
