Heck I never realized that when my grandparents said they had aches and pains after 50 that they really meant that they had aches and pains where none had been before and shouldn't now be. LOL

I am ready for science to find a way to allow those of us over 50 to start getting younger again physically. :)

I found doing weight training, stretching, and cycling has taken all the aches and pains away.

I hear ya..I was feeling energetic and healthy until this last year, I will be 54 in January.

I started taking Aerobic Oxygen again, started eating healthier and will soon start an exercise program. I hate feeling this way but I believe my lifestyle change [not good]over the past 2 years contributed to my sluggishness..

My body at the moment is actually rejecting unhealthy food. I see a hamburger and want to vomit lol.lets see how it goes

I have been having aches and pains like you mentioned. I found out that I had sleep apnea. Long story short-oxygen wasn't making it's way to my brain during sleep. I' ve been using a CPAP machine since the new year. What a difference! As a Christian, (I'm looking for a nice Christian man, by the way)I believe that Jesus can keep your heart and mind,as well as your body, young.

...I've been finding that my aches and pains diminish greatly when I'm not eating meat. Also, I was doing Silver Sneakers exercise classes (at age 66) until arthritis locked up my lower back, creating tight leg muscles. Did physical therapy, slowly went back to walking and got into eating lots of dark green leafy vegetables (in smoothies). Very little pain now ... even my "normal" aches and pains from arthritis have disappeared!!! happy

Yeah I read somewhere that cutting out meat fish and poultry is beneicial and can actually slow down the aging process provided you eat lots of other very healthy food. I might try that for 6 months

I felt aches and pains so then I did something about it. A couple of days of weight training, long hikes with my dog, eating right. I found not only my body but my mind felt better.

I never felt a lot of aches till in my sixties. haven't been in a hospitol since I was 31 ( tonsils out ).blood pressure low. I still lift weights ( not like past )play golf and today a young lady at the golf course thought I was early 60 ( I think she was just trying to be kind ).It's all about being active and taking the right herbs and not medications. Don't smoke anymore and don't drink like a young idiot as I was.

How nice it is to hear that there are a few that are still healthy. I'm also one of the few who doesn't have the aches and pains yet and I worked at keeping it away.

 I've had synthetic knee joints and wrist implants at an early age"25",now that i'm older with arthritis in most joints and exercise wears out needed cartilage that is between joints as a cushion is not a practical practice!! Therefore i use a Painmaster 2002 Tens electronic shock therapy to stimulate muscle exercise!! This helps tremendously by building muscle helping curb the pain! It runs off a 9 volt battery with 4 pads 2 different controls various settings! happy
Been thinking, since this stimulates muscle movement may try it with a Woman?? 2 pads on my butt- 2 pads on hers- turn on the POWER!!! Beats the hell out of my idea of a rope around my waist-pulley on the sealing and you go as fast as you want??? Maby BOTH ideas combined?????? laugh laugh happy happy happy I don't care who you are "That's Funny" The tens unit true!!laugh

Yep, I have aches and pains.. smile2 At age 72 I am still getting around pretty good.. I have had lower back surgery and have a brace attached to my spine and lower 3 vertebra. I had a knee replacement 3 1/2 years ago, blew out my Achilles, torn tendon in my foot, bunion and toe surgery and carpal tunnel surgery all at over the age of 50. Don't go to the gym anymore but I do weights, pilates and ride a recumbent bike at least 5 miles daily at home. We have a pool at my apartment complex and use that a lot in the summer. I use my cane if back is hurting. Just had a stress test in Jan. and dr says my heart is in great shape!

I do travel several times a year (sometimes alone)so don't hesitate to ask for help at the airports. Some of those places are really big and have hard floors that make walking hard on the back. The only things I have given up was hang gliding and riding my Harley...lol

I want to be as independent as long as possible..bigsmile

Good luck with your neck surgery.. I have some narrowing between the vertebra in my upper back/lower neck. Was having pain between my shoulder blades, dr sent me to Emergency room as they thought I was having a heart attack. That's how I found out about the neck problem.. Getting old is not always fun but I try to make the most of it. (If I'm having a bad day, I stay in bed with the covers over my head)..LOL
