Was John Lennon Jesus?

GET THIS!!! JESUS CHRIST IS NOT AN IMAGE. If any one says JESUS is John Lennon, they are on their own. JESUS CHRIST is the SON of GOD and HE left no pics here on earth. For we walk by faith and not by sight.

Wandering in a vast forest at night, I have only a faint light to guide me. A stranger appears and says to me: "My friend, you should blow out your candle in order to find your way more clearly." This stranger is a theologian.
-- Denis Diderot, Addition aux Pensees philosophiques, from John Daintith, et al, eds. The Macmillan Dictionary of Quotations (2000) p. 34, quoted from R, Rotando, in a personal letter to Cliff Walker (December 17, 2001)

so,you must extinguish the Candle that your "God" gave you?

So in what way do Christians believe that Jesus will return? As a man of flesh and blood or as a spirit, entity, energy, or state of consciousness?

JESUS CHRIST WILL RETURN WITH POWER AS THE LORD OF lords AND AS A CONQUERING KING

Does "a conquering king" mean that he will conquer the world via war?

I am trying to be realistic here. We have heard fables so many times they seem to have no meaning in the real world. Let's get realistic.

How does a conquering King translate into a God of peace and love?

How does this fable fall into line with the New World Order and the One world government conspiracy?

Will this conquering King be human? Will he be in the form of a manor an alien God?

If Jesus Christ is not an image or a man then what is he? How will you know him when he returns?

If you believe he is going to return, I am asking you, in a realistic sense, how will that look?

Will he come down from the clouds? Will he step out of a space ship?

Be realistic. If this is going to happen, then how do you imagine it will happen?

CONQUERING KING is one of HIS MARVELOUS NAME. HE is GOD the SON and not a man. HIM and the FATHER are One (John 10 : 30). HE is the One that died on the cross of Calvary for the sins of the world. The soon coming KING.

YES, WE BELIEVERS IN CHRIST SHALL BE CAUGHT UP TOGETHER IN THE CLOUDS, TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR: AND WE SHALL EVER BE WITH THE LORD (1 THESSALONIANS 4: 16 to 17).

I do believe in my creator...I believe some being created us and believe he created everything...whether his name is jesus or whatever...theres proof right here on earth that there is an creator..an higher being that possess great power. not just because of the wonderful skies or stars..not just because of the clouds and air...but me...he have shown me great blessings threwout my life and have answered my prayers when I needed them answered (not when I think I need it) but when it was right. he has never let me down yet. my creator is far beyond this earth, so far ahead and just like the ski is limitless well so is he....the proof of our creator is you.

That is what I always say. My proof of God is my own existence.

But I am asking about the stories of a MAN people call Jesus who was thought to be here on earth in the flesh, who died, came back to life and who people have been claiming (and waiting for) to return to the earth.... some day... soon. What exactly does that mean? Is it symbolic? Physical? or a spiritual transformation of human consciousness?

OR are people waiting for a God in a man suit to float down out of the sky, impeach Obama, and become the king of the world?

the ultimate affection is love...without it we are nothing more then animals. my creator posses powers beyond this world so its not hard to believe he did come to earth in human form to show us his love. God ultimately sacrifice his only son to show us his love. he forgives us of our sins as well. we humans are not so quick to do either. even for a love one, we naturally want to survive and believe love is something we can touch. Love is everything from pain to happiness, from suffering to joy, its that love unconditional love that humans fear because of vulnerability. I believe that the Holy Spirit will return and just like he answers my prayers when its the right time so will his return. you tell your kids one day they will know the meaning of something you really cant explain and that they need to see it for themselves to find out the meaning. well, he...my FATHER has given us all the ultimate question and its..me...his child that's living to answers it. I also believe once that answers is known....that will be the end of the world.....

I am of the belief that God is omnipresent. That means everywhere. HE NEVER LEFT SO HE DOES NOT HAVE TO RETURN.

Some Christians will disagree that "God" sacrificed his only son. Others will claim that Jesus is God. So no one really has this story strait.

Personally I don't understand why someone had to die for anyone else's sins.

If there is God (the father) and a God (the son) then that makes two Gods.

Yet everyone claims there is only one God.

Very strange beliefs if you ask me.

Jesus, God and the Holy spirit are all one. If you think
of it from a human physical perspective, then no it wouldnt
make sense. Remember though, this is spiritual energy and
not the physical body we are talking about.

Prior to Jesus sacrificing himself on the cross, people
would be condemned to hell for just one minor sin. God
realized that something had to be done, and sent Jesus
down to be sacrificed. Jesus knew what was going to
happen, even before he was crucified. He knew this
was something he would have to go through with.

Jesus sacrificed himself, so as if we repented and
asked Jesus for forgiveness, with sincerity of course,
we could avoid having to go to hell.

That doesn't really make any sense at all.

(If God realized that something had to be done then all he had to do was to stop condemning people to hell for just one minor sin. He is the 'boss' isn't he? He makes the rules right? -- If he doesn't then who does? Is there another God that your God must pay homage too?

Also, since when (and what sense does it make that)God pay homage to another God (or the Devil) by sacrificing his son?

Also what kind of screwed up world would let one person die or be punished for the sins of others?

It sounds vaguely familiar to fables about sacrificing a virgin to the evil Dragon.

somethings are not meant for you to understand. a greater being that's far more advance then any. you love your kids from birth naturally and unconditionally and would sacrifice yourself for them...my father loves us all even the ones that question his sincerity...I have no doubt in my mind, body and soul that he my father knows what he doing and I put my life into his hands for guidance and faith. I live to learn from his guidance.

I understand God in a different way than the orthodox stories of the Bible which are basically symbolic. Literally they don't make sense by any standards. They are symbolic.

Yes, a parent might sacrifice them self for their child, but that does not explain the story of the Bible that a God has to send his son to die to pay for the sins of mortals. This may be symbolic of something but I haven't made sense of that symbolism yet. It you believe it literally, then it just makes no sense.

All things are meant to be understood. Not all things are revealed.

If the truth is revealed and it is discovered that we have been lied to for centuries, then I would call that a cover-up.

I do have some theories but I'm afraid they would be considered outrageously sacrilegious for a General religion forum if one is to assume that most people on this forum are from faiths that base their beliefs on scripture of the old and/or new testaments.

What I won't do is depend on faith in scripture and dogma for coming to a logical answer or conclusion to these hard questions about the logic of the story told.

The question is: Why did a God's son have to die to pay for the sins of mortal mankind?

To whom was the debt owed?

Or would make EVERYBODY responsible for the sins of said others......whether they did anything or not. I expect more out of a divine being than to treat its' creation in that way.

We have to learn how to take full responsibility for our own actions, and thoughts. Stop blaming the devil for everything. LOL

for centuries there have been ppl of doubts and beliefs of there own...and then they die.. and then comes someone ordinary or lame with another theory then they die...so on and so on. one thing for sure, and is not an theory, is that you and me and every other ordinary guy will die...and my creator will live forever....you have the freedom of choice and the freedom to believe whatever you believe in...at the end of the day...that's your beliefs, theories, or stories that no one will remember or care to...but his word my father word is forever and will remain just that...
