Even the second amendment doesn't guarantee the right to an assault weapon or any weapon actually outside of the regulated militia.... say's WHO? the Second actually consists of two parts! And the Militia has nothing to do with the Armed Forces or the National Guard! Please stop disseminating Dis-Information¨! And it is nowhere written which Weapons the Militia can possess! And it is extremely disturbing the way you are demonizing every Gunowner! Extremely disturbing! This whole Thread has been an outpouring of Vitriol against Gunowners!

I read an article somewhere that said some 8 million background checks have been cleared to purchase firearms since Sandy Hook. I did pick up a little .22 pistol for pinking, but dammit if I can find cheap bulk ammo for it right now. 8 million, but not me, no background checks for concealed carry permit holders!

Ok first things first. Yelling out, "Second amendment" is not heckling. Heckling is: heckling present participle of heck·le (Verb) Verb Interrupt (a public speaker) with derisive or aggressive comments or abuse. Dress (flax or hemp) to split and straighten the fibers for spinning. Second if a person is going to step up in public and offer up their solution to a problem, they should welcome criticism. Shielding yourself from criticism using the emotional turmoil of a slain child is repugnant and should result in shame, not support. Bad ideas are bad no matter who puts them forth, no matter who you are you need to realize when you step up in public you will be criticized for your opinions. Yes, yes, yes.

Ignorance is hugging your gun and forsaking the child.... As this thread a few others prove over and over... Ignorance is not knowing that the news came out that no heckling occurred at all as posted in the OP and no assault weapon was used in the Connecticut school shooting (but was stated as fact in the OP) ... and not posting the corrections. The heckling was some "artful" editing by NBC news. Or was the original goal simply dishonesty?

In fact they care more about the safety of their children than you do, because they know and understand that if you take weapons away from the responsible people the only ones that have any will be those that actually desire to do harm, leaving them open to attacks and putting them at a greater risk of being killed than if you had let things be as they were. That's something you have yet to learn, and until you do, you are really the one forsaking them because in your desire to keep them safe and make yourself feel comfortable, you are in reality leaving them very vulnerable. It may be harsh but that is the truth.
