Guns are almost useless for protection.

Stupid "possible" result event scenerios do not do anything to the reality of guns and their aftermath.

All the stupid scenarios the gun advocates come up with are hilarious....I bust out laughing each time...

It is just like the militia type guys who believe their guns are going to protect then from the government....gut splitting good stuff.....

The reality is that your child is more likely to be killed by the gun you keep for protection a: because the gun "herders" are mentally unstable to begin with b: it seems to be easy to be irresponsible with the guns so the kids get them c: if someone breaks in and your gun and ammo is separate for the sake of the kids, you are screwed d: people get their own weapons used on them quite often so they basically gave the criminal a lethal weapon when they didn't have one laugh huh e: using your brain is always much more efficient to save your life than depending on an outside "tool" f: the stats really do show that you put your family in more danger from a weapon being in the house....

OK NOW! HERE WE GO!

This comes directly from a Book Called Handgun Stopping Power. It was compiled from data accumulated from the FBI, the Military, and Manufacturers on a definitive look and comparison of each hand gun caliber and its potential for what is known as a ONE STOP HIT. The author was going to limit his book exclusively to Center Fire calibers but these two pesky guns kept popping up with one shot stop endings to shootings.

Of note one story and one caliber really bothered the Author. The YOUNGEST person on record with the FBI to actually PULL A GUN KNOWINGLY AND SHOOT SOMEONE WAS 5 YEARS OLD! AS presented, a man broke into a home with a single mother who carried a .25 caliber Raven Semi Automatic for personal defense and kept it in her purse. The woman living in a bad neighborhood always left the gun in her purse safety off with a round in the chamber. While the man was beating his mother to death he managed to get to her purse, pull the gun, and shot at the man with all five rounds. One struck the man right in the head and he died on the spot. Two hit wall, the other two hit the man in the chest. Now this was before 911. The kid kept pressing 0 on the phone until an operator answered and managed to call police dispatch. The kid had seen his mother shooting the gun practicing with it and the FBI figured if the gun safety would have been engaged or the gun with no round in it the woman would have died along with her child. This is a case on file with the FBI.

So save your fiction and fallacy for others who like to act like a bunch of fear filled sheep! Life among the wolves got you down? Move to England then! Simple answer for your problem now isn't it?

For the ignorant, it won't compute no matter how many time this fact is presented.

Owing to wild speculation, the police released the following statement on the 18th January in order to clarify the types of weapons recovered inside the school.

If guns are not protection, then why does Obama's security guards all have guns?

If guns are not protection, then why does our military all have guns?

If guns are not protection, then why do police officers all have guns?

Answer that.

You think a citizen has no right to protect themselves and that they should have to rely on police and military to do it?

What happens when the government runs out of money to pay the police and military?

Then you better have your own guns because guns are protection from others with guns.

Of course it would conflict with other 'reports'. That's why it was issued. slaphead How do you know the other reports aren't merely parroting a single fabricated source that no-one checked?

This line explains:

Ok first things first.

Yelling out, "Second amendment" is not heckling.

Heckling is:

heckling present participle of heck·le (Verb)
Verb

Interrupt (a public speaker) with derisive or aggressive comments or abuse.
Dress (flax or hemp) to split and straighten the fibers for spinning.

Second if a person is going to step up in public and offer up their solution to a problem, they should welcome criticism.

Shielding yourself from criticism using the emotional turmoil of a slain child is repugnant and should result in shame, not support.

Bad ideas are bad no matter who puts them forth, no matter who you are you need to realize when you step up in public you will be criticized for your opinions.

How do conflicting reports eliminate confusion?

What makes one report more credible than another in your eyes?

If a real investigative reporter gets too close to the situation and demands to see some evidence, how much luck do they have?

That's the problem. Too many conflicting reports. Nobody knows who they can believe any more.

And how or why would one disturbed single shooter enter a school with all those weapons???

And if they did find those weapons in the school, and he was set up, how do we know those weapons were not planted by other shooters?

Who was the guy they chased through the woods? What is the name of the man they caught and handcuffed and put in a car? Why have we not heard one word about those two people?????

Seized inside the school:

#1. Bushmaster .223 caliber-- model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round magazine

#2. Glock 10 mm handgun

#3. Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun

You are so tedious. Owing to conflicting reports, the police issued this statement to clear the matter up.

You will believe what you want to believe and any evidence or rational thinking to the contrary will have absolutely no influence on your decision, so I'm not going to waste my time.

If you don't believe the police statement, take it up with them. I really don't care.

No need for the personal remark.

The guns around the president are just protocol you can ask JFK and Reagen how well they saved them from getting shot.

Our military has weapons to kill...that is what they are there for.

We already went through this. I will disarm a person with a gun and possibly use it against them before they can use it on me. I don't need a gun, I will have theirs.

Guns are only protection in the unhealthy mind.

Well the remark is true and I'm tired of silly arguments. The police would know what weapons they found at the scene, don't you think? People have been espousing hearsay on this thread, and the moment I post a police report to the contrary you jump on it with stupid & sophist crap. Prove it's false and get back to me.
