Are you willing to travel for a first meet in person?
How far are you prepared to travel, should you meet someone, that
you would like to build a relationship with? Or are you a person,
who plans to just date in your own city or town? Many times couples
meet and like one another clear across country.

Distance would never have mattered to me.
As it happens, he chose to move here, I
would have gone there.

I live in a large city. There are more opportunities to meet someone in large cities. So, I won't go outside my city.

No, I am not prepared to travel to meet somebody. I've managed to get a few women that don't live in my home town to come here to meet me though.

since Women are from Venus and Men from Mars, why would distance matter if both of you are on Earth

Right now I am confined to my city.

A year from now distance won't matter.

Travelling to meet someone is difficult with my schedule.. I haven't have much time to meet anyone since we moved so I'm looking to meet more people here.. :-)

I know that in a couple years I won't be living where I am at. Hell, it could be sooner. Fact is, I am in the midst of finishing my Bachelors degree, I travel with work, and I know that I do want to move. Meeting a girl from another state may factor into that. I dunno what will happen. So, I am not opposed to meeting a chick who lives an hour, two hours, seven hours. I know that I loved the east coast while I was working in Delaware. I never thought in a million years I would love that area so much but I truly did. I also love the west coast, especially San Fran. It's nice to actually have this "freedom" cause I don't feel I have to limit myself to just dating locally. Anyways, bottom line is that I just go with the flow. Lol.

If I'm traveling, it's to meet him at a certain place. I'm not traveling too far just to meet someone. Gas costs money, and we should meet halfway. Being local is key.

Not to play with words here (ok, I am) but hells no, not for a "first meet."

Hopefully you already met them online, or in person someplace, and that is really the first meet. Interest is sparked. With any follow-on meets, travel is a definitely a possibility. I have friends that fly thousands of miles for "first meets" every year (smile) - but the Doc don't get down like that.

SO, after all that noise, YES, I would travel for a meet. Everyone is different, and there are things some will do, and some folks won't. Hall & Oates anyone?

If i feel so much about the lady, i'd go to meet her in the Moon if that's where she is :-)
Meeting a lady who'd bring peace and love to my heart is worth any hassle i may face in meeting her!

I would travel within the United States to meet for the first time. I have no problem meeting her halfway if she preferred or flying her in to see me and putting her up at a hotel. Whichever works best for us and her comfort level is key. But I am the type that I would travel that far to see a friend for dinner and a movie. So if it was a definite type of connection then that sure would not be a problem with me. We would just find a way to figure it all out.

Sounds like a man looking for a Real relationship. Often times men limit distance because they just want a convenient close by date.

Did the global thing a few times; it just wasn't and isn't worth the time and expense. For any males contemplating traveling to another country,"to meet his dream", it's cheaper to join the Foreign Legion and forget her. Besides, you'll have more fun...
