Was he now? And did he now?

Jonah 1
17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

And you do realize this was done to save Jonah right? Jonah was on a ship that hit a storm

4 But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

So after he had sent the storm, the men begged for compassion and forgiveness

14 Wherefore they cried unto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee.

And to save Jonah's life, Jesus placed him in the belly of a whale.

17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
------------------

And besides all this, it was the "lord" that did it, Jesus Christ. Not the father. So no, Jonah being in the belly of the whale and Jesus being in the heart of the Earth for 3 days has no relation in the sense of what you're saying. The Father did not send Jonah into the wale, nor did he cast Jesus to hell.

sorry Cowboy..you said that Jesus was Lord God....where in any of those passages does it states anything about Lord God

which means the God they were referring to was "The Father" that placed Jonas in the whale and placed Jesus in Hell

now how does it feel to have "The Trinty Hustle" pulled on you

He never said to choke your daughter, he's never instructed us to bring any harm to anyone, physical or emotional. Heck, he's told us to turn the other cheek.

so if you strike a child on one cheek you are suppose to turn their other cheek?

No, the phrase "turn the other cheek" refers to no violence, no hitting. If someone hits you, you turn them the other cheek instead of retaliating. It's a phrase speaking of passiveness, no violence. Why do you think of hatred and beating on people so much?

Cowboy...do you now agree that it's "wrong" and against the commands of Jesus for Christian parents to strike their children as discipline

Never said it wasn't.........

See this is what you do. At the start somewhere, where you're getting this from is when I said I would spank my child, I was ok with it. I NEVER said Jesus said it was ok. He never gave any specific references to that in exacts. He speaks of being passive and all which could involve not spanking a child. But again, he NEVER said anything about it specifically that I know of. The only "instructions" on that, that I'm aware of is from the old testament where it say to spank the child. But again, Jesus never said the contrary to the best of my knowledge.

Third word in the sentence Funches.

He is only referred to as "LORD God" in the old testament. Before he became flesh and took on the name "Jesus".

Luke 4:12
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Romans 10:9
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Any other referance(s) of "lord" as in the lord of a kingdom will not be capitolized. When in reference to Jesus, it is capitalized. Again, context funches, context.

so unless you can provide passages of the term Lord God....then it was the Father as Lord that placed Jonas and Jesus in the belly and Hell

Jonas is from The Old Testament which is why the term "Lord God" would have to be used in the passage to distinguish Jesus from God The Father

so again if Lord God is not in the passage, then they have to be referring to the Father that place Jonas in the belly and Jesus in hell

I've given verses upon stoning unruly children from the old covenant in this thread. If you wish to find them look. No where in the new testament does it tell us to stone unruly children or anyone else. Remember, Jesus came to fulfill the old law?

Did Jesus himself, in the new testament tell anyone to stone their unruly children? If not, that law is not included in the new covenant.

the fact that Jesus had to to keep hiding and running away to keep from getting stoned is proof that Jesus never fulfilled the old stoning law

and this is backed up by the fact that you can't present any laws or teachings of Jesus on how to discipline Unruly children without stoning them

so Cowboy it's time to give it up and pick up those stones...and search for unruly children

If not, that law is not included in the new covenant.

the fact that Jesus had to to keep hiding and running away to keep from getting stoned is proof that Jesus never fulfilled the old stoning law

and this is backed up by the fact that you can't present any laws or teachings of Jesus on how to discipline Unruly children without stoning them

so Cowboy it's time to give it up and pick up those stones...and search for unruly children

lol Jesus never ran or hid, what are you talking about?

Give one scriptural evidence that Jesus "ran" away from anyone or "hid" from anyone.
