I have been seeing this post on Facebook:

THANK YOU FLORIDA AND KENTUCKY!!!!

Florida and Kentucky the first states that will require drug testing when applying for welfare, effective July 1st!

Some people are crying this is unconstitutional.

How is this unconstitutional?

It's OK to drug test the people who work for their money but not those who don't?

Re-post if you want all states to do this.

My question is this: what is unconstitutional about it?

private employers have the OPTION to drug test as a way to weed out those who will be working with their 'customers'

its a different scenario than those who are supposed to be HELPING people with financial need,,,,

its unconstitutional because welfare is a government program, it is government money and it is a way of discriminating against one group of recipients of government money as opposed to ALL recipients of government money,,,it could be considered illegal search

but perhaps we will follow suit by ordering RANDOM alcohol testing of all people driving on (government funded) roads,,,,testing that will be required to be PAID FOR by those randome folks,,,,,

The armed forces are drug tested, the postal workers are drug tested, teachers, veterans...

So you think welfare people have a right greater than these.... slaphead

GET REAL! Guess they'll have to start feeding and clothing the kids instead of buying drugs!

The money saved from held payments will cover the cost! But most counties and states already have the facilities in place!

Plus it's a boost to employers if the screen is good for 30 days....immediate employment if offered!

If I use logic, I Can quickly understand the significance of making sure postal workers (who deal in important documents), teachers(who deal with our most precious commodity), and veterans (who are contracted to represent their country) all have reason to remain 'sober'

not to mention, the greater loss of money if people in these 'professions' would cause by underperformance or malperformance of their jobs

none of this applies to those receiving federal funds to LIVE by,,,,,

This is another attack on women and another attack on the poor.

When they test congress for drugs and prostitutes
then I won't have a problem with this.

I am not sure what you refer to, I have brother, cousin and uncle who served/are serving and I know nothing of them having mandatory drug screens,,,,,unless you are referring to something required of veterans who are ON some type of therapy or medicinal regimen to make sure they arent ABUSING or MIXING any other substances?

I'm against drug laws PERIOD! but I have to be tested to maintain my medical benefits as a war veteran, and I don't receive money! I've worked for over 40 yrs and don't draw welfare, no unemployment due to medical non-determination, or a pension! I provide for myself, all while awaiting determination for benefits I've been fighting years for... because I have NO CHOICE if I wish to eat and maintain a roof over my head!

Test em, deny em, or get em off their a$$e$! Maybe they'll vote next time to repeal stupid laws!

Servicemen/women are tested whether they know it or not...with every mandatory physical, Dr visit, or deployment.

medical benefits? that means records that will be used for your MEDICAL BENEFIT? what is the problem with that,, is it something objectionable about your medical providers having access to your medical condition ?

this is still a totally different animal than testing welfare recipients,,,if it were about testing those on MEDICAL benefits, it would make more sense,,,

and I also dont think this is something that 'you' are asked to pay for personally from the pension being provided you from working?

those on welfare have NO INCOME Source (including pensions) from which to pay for medical assistance or anything else, and yet the states proposing this (southern states Im imagining) are asking the RECIPIENTS to pay for the testing themself as well,,,

at the end of the day,, I have no vested interest anymore, I see how well bigotry and class welfare works,,,,destroying ourselves is inevitable at this point,,,,,,,,one 'group' at a time,,,,

Only if we make them....drastic measures call for drastic solutions.

Perhaps people will come out of their haze and start making better choices....perhaps in leadership too!

If your vote doesn't count, that's another cause for action!

Perhaps some lights will come on for a change!

Obviously some votes DO count...or we wouldn't be having this conversation!

I totally agree with you. But until people become active and vote sensibly, hold the representatives feet to the flame, there is NO right for anyone to complain!

Until that time, the law is the law!

I'm pi$$ed, AND active! I support a solution to many of these problems....RON PAUL... but nobody seems to want solutions, just their Fox, Sports, American Idol and Reality TV....

That's the truth of it!

Perhaps something like this is needed!

Under Obama, 46% of our nation draws on entitlement programs! Of the remaining taxpayers, 15% actually get money back from the govt at tax time.

Romney is not a solution, he is a cause! He ships Americas jobs overseas! Banks in the Caymans!

It's not my fault people are stupid voters, and addicted to their TVs, believe without question what they are programmed to believe.

I try! Others try! But most don't listen, care, or care to find out.... because why should they if they can get it without putting an effort into it?

Be careful what you vote for, you just might get it! As we are!

I don,t understand what the problem is if the recipient does not use then the test will be negative and they don't pay for it unless they are positive results.

It is not "governments" money, it is MY money and I don't care to support them if the money is used for dope by a dope. If you ever worked in a county hospital neonatal unit you would change your tune. One crack mother had 9 children, because she was prostituting to support her habit, no amount of money would have been enough for her.

So, we the working stiffs, have her children to support because they were all crack babies and were made wards of the state. If you ever saw an innocent baby born with crack addition, how they cry, it would break your heart, what future do they have? Everyone is entitled to free birth control, but do they use it? NO, because the more kids they have the more money they get. Be real people. This is just one story in the naked city, there are plenty more. She was on medicaid and definitely did not take care of her kids with it.

Florida is expecting heavily traveled highways due to the mass exodus north to move to other states for there welfare bennies.
Racing to leave our state! Ha ha ha ha! Take them to your house. Don't be dipping into my paycheck.

So all you bleeding hearts can take care of them in your state and deplete YOUR resources. Keep paying those taxes as they keep breeding. LOL

Lol Ron Paul..

This is a great way to "weed" out those deserving of a handout as opposed to the other slackers who are even lazier. Great way to keep taxes down as well. Anyone so quick to defend the welfare class should go under the bridge and spend time with them. They sell their EBT for .50 on the dollar, they use their handout for pills and such, they basically don't care about improving themselves as long as the Liberal Government keeps supporting them. That's MY money they're blowing, hell yes test their lazy butts.
