MsHarmony, no, I don't think child molesters/predators EVER change because if they are out in society the object of there desire/temptation is always there. He may have said that he didn't want a woman with any children because the temptation would have been too strong and he would have been caught again. He joined this site shortly after his release from jail the second time (2002-07). He joined just before me if I am correct. I respectfully disagree. I think EVERYONE can change, regardless of the labels society gives them I dont even know if he changed, but I still see it as a positive that he made any attempt to avoid children.

I hear all about his posts! But the one response to a post of his I remember.it was about drugging.I could not believe his responce!He encouraged this young man on here to go for it.The more the better. Needless to saty,I let him have it over that one.He said he was wrong and sorry! I have no pitty at all for him,only cotemt! I missed that thread,,,,,,

I joined Mingle back when it was "Justsayhi" and one of the first threads I EVER spoke in was a pirate/llama/rum thread with Eileen, Whisper, Burgandybry, Captain and "Lex." Those were some fun times. FUn times indeed.

What is interesting is that people will say "Homosexuals didn't choose to be that way! They can't change!!!!!", but they somehow think that pedophiles can. If you can't choose / change your sexual orientation, why do you think pedophiles can? Prison for life or execution, their choice. Prison for life only if their cell is a four foot square metal box in the middle of the desert during the hottest months of summer...with only a cup of water and a slice of bread a day... (ooooops...forgot to give them water for a few days! No wonder I can't keep plants alive)

((((((Melissa)))))) & (((((((Izzie)))))) My thoughts about this went straight to you guys and all the fun we had back then, this news puts a very dark mark on those memories. only on his part in those times.. at least we know we are who we are.. and I can vouche for you and you can vouche for me. :)

According to two articles that at the moment I can't quote (on my cell phone right now) he has been in jail twice once for seven years for molesting three children, in 1989 and again in 2002 for five years for having thousands of pictures of young children and INFANTS being sexually assaulted and beaten, on his computer and in his home. I saw that this morning.

I hope there is some follow up on the story. 10 to 1 he was still collecting kid abuse/porn and/or actively seeking out kids in his area. Wouldn't surprise me if bodies are found with his slimy dna all over the kids. Transfer him to a Texas prison.

..Im not defending what he did (and served time for) in the past Im only giving him SOME credit for the attempt to avoid women with children in THIS forum,,, I have been thinking about this Harmony. And I wonder if the entire point of seeking 'women without kids' was to protect himself, should his persona be found out. He could point to that and say, 'I never asked to be around them.' Same thing as never quite hooking up with anyone 'because they want to change me.' From today's perspective, it all looks pretty tactical.

Im not defending what he did (and served time for) in the past Im only giving him SOME credit for the attempt to avoid women with children in THIS forum,,, You have children..would you want to trust them with someone you hope has been changed or evolved?

Statistics prove this. statistics can only show a tendency , a correlation, they cant prove anything unless they come back with 100% of results... are you saying there was an unbiased study done in which ALL the participants involved continued to reoffend for a life time?

It very well may be true that pedophilia is wired into those peoples brains (much like homosexuality) and can't be changed, but is a life jail sentence or execution the answer? We live in a society that leans more towards rejuvenation rather than punishment, so how would either of those punishments be either fair or productive (in the sense of fixing the root of the problem). Sure, locking them up or legally killing them will keep them away from kids, but is it right to punish somebody for something that may be beyond their control? Besides, the upkeep of prisoners isn't cheap and have you seen our national debt lately? Wouldn't a more fit solution be neutering? It's fast, easy, cheap and possibly effective while leaving those people capable of being a productive part of society.
