Another thread got me thinking

there is some knowledge I wish I didnt have,,,,just because I dont think it serves any positive purpose

I know how to pick locks, but thats actually useful when I lock myself out of somewhere

I am AWARE of many alternative sexual activities though, that I wish I wasnt, knowing about them serves no positive purpose in my life and they are actually disturbing to think about

I wish I had never known heartbreak, because I know I would be more trusting if I hadnt,,,

can you think of something you wish you had never learned?

Most of it is of in-humanity......

..but... I had to re-learn Ezekiel 25:17, for purposes of a satyrical play on the movie Pulp Fiction....and say it in a way which it was never meant to be said.

Not "particularly" dogmatic, but to learn how ANY word or phrase can be twisted for the author's purposes (including Shakespeare of course).....was both an enlightement AND disappointment for me!

No, I've enjoyed all the knowledge so far. But I have a terrible memory and engage in what could be considered abhorrent sexual behavior.

Only thing I can think of is wishing I had not experienced my daughters pain....It is the hardest thing for a mother to handle because we cannot always fix our children's problems, make the hurt go away, and wanting to is a pain like no other....

As for a broken heart, I embrace it...It taught me that I am capable of loving unconditionally....flowerforyou

Very nice thread Harmony....

I have to agree with you on heartbreak, I've suffered 3 times.

I have amazed people with my ignorance. I can remember people saying to me, "Surely, You couldn't be that ignorant." I can see now why it did now because they really didn't know me that well.

Hummm about the only things I wish I had never had to deal with is the death of loved ones and the heartache my kids have felt....

To me most things that we deal with ourselves make us stronger...But when it comes to those things you have no control over it breaks your heart...

No, I am glad I learned all that did, even the things that were painful and bad such as heartbreak. They helped shape me, form my resolve and give me the experience on how to deal with things in the future.

Ignorance may be bliss, but sometimes being blissfully ignorant
can be a dangerous thing. There isn't anything that I have learned
that I would want to give up.

Wish more had your attitude! ...What at mess it would be if peeps knew everything!!.....PS: If they so choose, the "born in to it" privileged don't have to know anything, not even the price of a gallon of gas...And, unfortunately, most "so choose"...flowerforyou

Added only as a guiding reference: (but a biblical analogy fits here)
Seek the things that edify(build up) and wisdom will come....these will sustain, for wisdom and knowledge are different things and ONLY in the End, will you know......Everything. But wisdom will get you to the end!!

I wished for a long time that I had never seen the movie Alien. We thought it was going to be straight science fiction and had no idea it was a horror movie, so the horrible parts really shocked me. And I got pregnant not too long after that, and I would have flashbacks to that one scene (if you saw the movie, you know what I'm talking about). I have a very vivid imagination and things like that stay with me for a long time.

no. I figure the knowledge I have is like a database -some is stored and not accessed frequently

but I think I am a better person for the additions, as it were

as far as sexual practices - nothing is new under the sun - I see them as neither good nor bad so long as they consenual, of age, and no one is injured - not emotionally or physically

I loved that movie! But I have to admit, I was eating when the chestburster scene happened... and suddenly, I just was not hungry after that.

This makes me wonder what is considered abhorrent sexual behavior.
