There is a show called "How I Met Your Mother"

I stumbled across it once and do watch now and again

Part of the on going story is the character of Barney

who is constantly trying to get laid.

One show was about his 'perfect week' where he was

on track to taking a different woman home with him each

night.

While I find it humorous, I can't help but wonder if the

show, or any other would be the same if it were a woman

picking up a different stranger in a bar, club each night

and having a goal of 7 men in 7 days.

I feel the double standard is still prevalent in society....

that it's not only acceptable, but cool that Barney can do

this, yet if it were a woman it would somehow become dirty

and she would be a slut....

Yeah, but it's women. Its called sex in the city...I never watched just for the fact that they are all horrible actresses. Plus the fact that it makes them look like whores. Just my opinion

Way before that there was a show on HBO called Dream on that was hilarious.

The double standard exists because your average guy can't bring someone home every night. You average girl could. Most guys won't turn down free sex. If a girl comes up to you and says let's go to my place they would be ready to go. If a guy says that to a woman she will probably walk away.

I'm talking about it being acceptable for men..not why it's in place, I know why the double standard is in place.

Yeah pretty bad double standard too. Personally I don't care what other people do. I personally think sex is a fun and enjoyable experience and wouldn't fault someone for having some fun as long as no one else is getting hurt.

Well I think that's also why it's acceptable because it is so unachievable. I am not saying it's right but if a girl does that she is thought of as a slut and the guy is thought to have game. It may go as far as being more primitive as how mammal males typically try to spread their seed as much as possible. A male can have many offspring at one time while females cannot. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it but maybe it does.

This is why i don't go to nightclubs anymore. I found that they're based on picking up one night stands, rather than finding someone who'll want to get to know you. I'm better off away from them. Lol. I'd rather get to know my potential partner while sober.

I cant speak for guys, however, as an OBSERVER,, it sure doesnt seem true that the average guy cant come home with a different girl every night in this culture where sex is just something fun to do

now whether they could score the 'beauty queen' they are seeking, is a different story,,,

A guy would have to know where to go and have game to do it. A girl could just go to a bar and find a guy much more easily. Just saying if you have a guy and a girl the same attractive level the girl will have an easier time finding a guy than vice versa.

but think of what you are saying

a girl can just go to a bar and find a guy,, and there are PLENTY of 'those types' of girls for the guys to choose from at just about ANY bar,,,

so its not that hard for either gender to score , in an intoxicated environment, unless there is just a higher NUMBER of one gender than the other

What I find attractive is what others may not. I find some smoking hot babes(Women)...lol on here that would be considered not hot by others high standards.

I have had a few ''beauty queens'' and I have had few pretty one that I were in relationships with. Aside from the fact that could never go home with a different one every night is just me. I tend to be loyal to a fault, even if I am just ''banging'' them. Or how ever you wanna say it.

The point wasn't really about who gets laid more and if their getting laid with 'hot' people. Was more on is it acceptable more for men than women?

The women feel they will be labeled if they do...( i don't give a rats *** what people think of me) so they stay out of the thread.
The men are quite comfortable..

I have even had female friends tell me they won't post 'nasty' because it will give them a 'bad name' on here, even on the internet there is concern.

Women enjoy sex just as much as men, but still get "punished" for it, while men are "praised". It also seems be more acceptable for a woman to have no interest in sex, than for a male. That just doesn't make sense to me, and never will. Though, society seems to be changing slightly, there still certainly is a double standard.
