"Criminal Minds" has always been a show designed to push the envelope of what a crime procedural can be on broadcast television, and we now have the latest example of this very thing courtesy of an upcoming episode.

According to a brand-new report coming to us via E! News, there will be a story later on during season 8 that focuses on a conversion camp, which is where gay children are often sent in order to be "transformed" when it comes to their sexual orientation. This is a touchy subject that really to this point has only been introduced on cable, with "American Horror Story: Asylum" even using shock value in order to touch on it rather than cold, hard reality.

So how is this going to be specifically woven into a story? Basically, we are going to be meeting a man in his twenties during this episode who was sent at one point to one of these camps, and he now is having to deal with the ramifications that come along with that. Will he be a victim or a suspect in a case? It's possible, though he could just be a witness to something that rings true to some experience that he had in his past.

Despite being over 150 episodes into its run, "Criminal Minds" continues to come up with new and inventive stories for CBS. In addition to that, it also remains a ratings force and the network's top-rated series on Wednesday nights.

Yikes, I have been following this season faithfully and I have a bad feeling Dr. Reid's mystery women might be a he\she after reading this article!

Hottie Michelle Trachtenberg from Eurotrip, Inspector Gadget, Ice Princess, 17 Again, Cop Out, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV Series), Gossip Girl (TV Show), Robot Chicken (TV Show) and other movies and TV shows is set to play the Unsub in the next Criminal Minds episode on 01/16/2013 (I am depressed that is a whole month away expecially with the plot line coming up with the BAU team having a stalker!).

unfortunately, the episode is about deprivation of another sort,,,,its not a 'conversion camp' that simply focuses on helping homosexuals deal with their feelings and understand why they are having them,,,,etc,,

there is ILLEGAL sexual molestation that occurs even at the camp,,,,,and of course the professionals and profilers all think its awful that anyone should want to change or help someone change their sexual behavior,,,,

,,,anyhow, the keepers are sick folks not doing things that more successful conversion camps engage in,,,,and they cause terrible consequences for the lead victim/suspect

Woohoo! It's official, it has been renewed for another season! I wonder who all is coming back? I bet at least one wont be coming back.

I haven't really heard too much about Criminal Minds one way or the other; as far as who's leaving etc. If it's between J.J. and Prentiss, then Prentiss gets the boot from me. I love Criminal Minds and I've been waiting for some new shows...I believe I've seen them all up to this point.
As far as that storyline that msharmony mentioned, I'm not sure it would make a very good fit. It is controversial though, so it'll either send the ratings thru the roof or cause them to plummet.

Ummm, the current season is season 8, Prentiss left at the end of season 7 for good........ She was replaced at he beginning of this season by SSA Blake.

I just read Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) is going to be in the two episode, two hour season finale this week! They wont say if he is a good or bad guy, but I bet he will be the unsub.

Criminal Minds was renewed for a 10th season last month! I just wonder what stars are coming back? I hope they all do except Blake. Last nights episode was the highest rated TV episode of the Night and week so far putting CBS in the number one spot.

I really wish they would get rid of Blake, I HATE her character, they need to bring Prentiss back or get rid of Blake all together. This season's been awesome so far and has brought Shemar Moore and Matthew Grey Gubler into the spotlight, both have been getting movie offers, Shemar is going to be starring in a romantic Comedy coming up and Gubler got the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies because of his work on the show and his directing talents.

I just hate though when they let the actors direct episodes because then they are barely I them. So far Gubler, Gibson and Mantegna have all directed episodes. Gublers directed like 7 or 8.

I wish they would do another Arc like Mark Hamill's character that goes half a season or so.

Did anyone watch last nights episode? This is depressing, this used to be such an active thread for one of the best shows on tv.

I only just saw this site and am still reading through some of the comments but I totally agree with Blake out and Prentiss in....I shall watch last night's episode tonight and comment tomorrow

Ummm, your going to want to watch tonight"s episode tonight! Two Profilers are supposed to go down and it is made to look like Reid and Morgan.

Right the new NCIS and NCIS LA were on last night and tonight it's Criminal Minds and seeing as it nearing season end it would have to be sensational to keep everyone on edge during summer..

Not too charmed about Morgan being hit - but it would probably give Garcia a chance to play a little more than she has been lately - let her baby girl character become stronger and tougher if having to a nearly dead Morgan.

I love Criminal Minds I hope Penelopes not one of the ones they are changing I love her she's my fave
