impending shakeup in Criminal Minds' BAU team looms as star Thomas Gibson is still in contract negotiations, but at least one of his costars isn't worried about the future of the show.

"I think it's all going to be fine — I'm not going to hold my breath," Joe Mantegna told TV Guide Magazine at the SAG Foundation's 2nd Annual Golf Classic on June 13, where he served as event host. "You'd like to think that a lesson would be learned in that you don't fool around with stuff that's working. I feel hopeful and confident that it will all work out and we'll all go back to work."

News of Gibson's possible departure also comes after CBS announced the return of two former cast members to full time status: A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster.

"It's fantastic," said Mantegna of his returning costars. "Things happen — God knows why things happen the way they do — but I'm glad it worked out the way it did."

Minds' seventh season is scheduled to begin shooting next month. Will you still tune in even without Gibson?

around. I don't come on here much anymore and I finally have 40 (sometimes over) hours at work and a new boss. I'm not so stressed anymore. I'm actually starting to like life again.

Criminal minds has been awesome this year, btw.

Yes it has! I am glad they brought everyone back! I wish they would bring back Ashley Seaver, but it is what it is!

I hope they bring back a reoccuring Unsub this season hat ends up in a lot of episodes, like the Boston Reaper. I am definately not dissapointed at all, this season has rocked so far!

I also have a bad feeling that this might be a final season for either Hotch or Morgan or both. Every cast member resigned new contracts this season for two seasons (Season 7 and Season 8) except for Thomas Gibson (Hotchner) and Shemar Moore (Morgan). I think it would suck if ANY cast member left the show! The chemistry between this cast is what makes this show.

We had someone die in our office It was aweful, even though the guy was one of the worst dirtbags we probably ever caught. Cardiac arrest from drugs he took before he entered the store and had a huge bag of crystal meth on his person he tried to ditch when we cuffed him, it was bigger then the pal. of my hand.

That blows. I'm really sorry to hear that. I watched someone have a seizure for the first time ever over the summer. He passed away last month. He refused to go to the hospital about his seizures over the years.

Oh yea, I read that Matthew Gray Gubler(Dr. Reid) maybe one of the leads in Ghostbusters 3, Dan Ackroyd really likes him for it!

It's been confirmed Paget Brewster is definately leaving the series for good at the end of this season. Also every cast member with the exception of Matthew Gray Gubler has signed on for next season, Gubler is still in negotiations.

I know he wants to direct, but he is a better actor then director and an anchor on the show.

After seven seasons on CBS’ Criminal Minds, Paget Brewster is leaving — and it sounds like it’s for good this time.

EW has confirmed the actress will wrap up her time on the series after this season. (Deadline.com first reported.) Brewster, who plays the role of Emily Prentiss, said via her Twitter account that deciding to leave the show was “hard choice.” She adds: “I love everyone at CM and the fans! I just couldn’t ignore my gut feeling. It’s time for something new.”

Last March, Brewster’s character exited the show but a window was left open for a return when it was revealed that her character had faked her death. This season, she — along with costar A.J. Cook — both returned to the show full-time, pleasing longtime fans who had been critical of the pair’s respective departures.

Just last month, executive producer Erica Messer told EW that she was hopeful Brewster and costar Matthew Gray Gubler would be retained next season, which has not yet been officially announced, as both were in the process of renegotiating their contracts. “This year I’m doing a lot of hopeful thinking,” Messer said of planning the two-hour finale. “The studios and network have stood behind us and said how much we mean to them and how much they love our show. I feel really strongly that we’ll be able to have this team back together again because it’s obvious they work well together. We’ve had one of the strongest seasons we’ve ever had this year and a huge, huge part of that is because all of our actors are here.” It is not yet known if Gubler will return.

I follow the criminal minds page on FB and they have been posting since Monday about how this is Emily's goodbye episode. I just don't understand why they would do that when the episode hasn't aired yet.

Well, it was known a long time ago that Emily was eventually leaving the show. I don't understand why they would reveal something like that either. It takes all the fun out of knowing who's going to die.

The commercials for tonight's episode make it seem like the audience isn't going to know which profiler dies. But when someone knows of the information that we know ... it's almost a bit pointless to even watch. I'll still watch but just saying.

Yeah I agree... Don't they want people to tune in and see what happens? I will definitely be watching too.
