So what caused the shakeup, according to Tassler? Would you believe that developing the Criminal Minds spinoff Suspect Behavior caused them to take a second look at the bureaucratic structure of the FBI and therefore reconsider the cast structure of Criminal Minds? Because that's the line Tassler is selling... It is a fictional show. lol we know that. |

When asked if the cuts were in fact due to budget reasons, as some have speculated, Tassler said, "I wouldn't say that it was just budget reasons. I would say that over the past couple of years a lot of shows have taken a look at adjusting their casts, their castmembers, sometimes for budget reasons, and other times—in this case one of the factors we building a spinoff and we had [Criminal Minds:] Suspect Behavior and we looked at sort of the evolution of the franchise, what this division of the FBI, how they actually did their jobs...and that did give us an opportunity to reflect that back on the design and the structure of the team on Criminal Minds. "So there were discussions about what role did A.J. play, what role did Paget play—is there an opportunity here with the spinoff to look back at the original show? How did we feel about that brand? How could we evolve the roles of the agents in the original show? "We hope Paget stays with the show, she has the option to stay and we would like her to continue on with the show, but I can tell you that across the board there are discussions about castmembers changing—in fact it's more often than is necessarily shared by the press. It's the nature of the evolution of any show." Uh-huh. Cook, who plays public affairs agent Jennifer Jareau, was written off the series earlier this season; Brewster, who plays Behaviorial Analysis Unit agent Emily Prentiss, no longer appears in every episode. There was to much of an outcry when they cut JJ. They will loose to many viewers if they cut more people. |

No prentiss isn't sure if she wants to stay. She has the option but she's not making as much money.

No prentiss isn't sure if she wants to stay. She has the option but she's not making as much money. That's not what I read. I read she waanted to stay and opted to cut her episodes back this season so she wouldn't have to leave. |

Joe Mantegna who plays Supervisory Special Agent, David Rossi I just realized is the voice who play's one of my favorite Simpsons characters "Fat Tony"! Damn he has talent.

The writers originally wanted Sheldon Leonard to voice Fat Tony. When they were unable to get him, they went with Joe Mantegna. It is his longest-running role. Mantegna commented, "you feel honored that they asked you to do a voice. The fact that they bring you back and keep writing for the character, it is very satisfying."
Mantegna based his raspy voice for Fat Tony on his Uncle Willy, a long-standing cigarette smoker. He insists to the producers to "not let anyone else do his noises." Mantegna voiced Fat Tony in a scene in The Simpsons Movie that almost got cut. Of the Fat Tony episodes, Mantegna favors "Bart the Murderer" and "The Mook, the Chef, the Wife, and Her Homer", because it was the season premiere. ReceptionIGN included Fat Tony on their 2006 list of the "Top 25 Simpsons Peripheral Characters". Star News Online listed Joe Mantegna as one of the 400 reasons why they love The Simpsons. In 2007, Adam Finley of TV Squad called Mantegna one of the five best The Simpsons guest stars and Vanity Fair called "Bart the Murderer" the eighth best episode of the show, saying, "This episode makes the cut because of the inspired Mafia satire". Playmates Toys made Fat Tony into an action figure as part of the World of Springfield toy line. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_Tony He really is an amazing actor when you see everything he does. From playing cops, criminals, Mobsters and voice over and now playing a Profiler who hunts serial killers and terrorists. He is simply amazing. |

maybe he would smile more if they added Dharma to the show,,lol If you have aany of the Seasons on DVD, in the special features are behind the scenes and gag reels where he is busting up making fun of himself. It's worth watching........... He does make the occasional joke and smiles like in the 5th season episode "The Internet is forever" when Reid walks into the breifing and Hotch asks\makes a joke infront of everyone "What, did you join a boy band?" Also in the first season he laughs and smiles all the time. Of course that's when Gideon was the BAU Unit Chief before Hotch got promoted. He also smiles and laughs in the episodes Haley and Jack are in. |
