Topic: America.."land of the free"

Now that white people are becoming the minority. I think they should change it so they can only hire white people, Like they did for the other minority when I just got out of high school. Please elaborate, I am only forty and I do not recall a time when any company was ONLY allowed to hire one race. A time when they CHOSE to,, yes, but never a mandate to only hire minorities i'll elaborate the best i can.. i'm 46, i beleive at one point in time there did need to be a law in effect of a person <of minority> as they called it back then.. i did see places that did only hire back then of a certain race, however like you say what is minority anymore? who knows.. i do beleive that there is a greater mix in america now. i pretty much from what i see anyway.. that since 'made" to mix everyone all together as "human" for the workplace at one time was a good idea.. I feel that no race whatsoever any color or origon should be treated special because of their bloodline.. for all humans should be equal and be hired for their abiliites on the work they preform..i think work visas should be put to a halt though.. for so many americans arent working already. We haven't got there yet. When we get to the point of equality then we can stop using the laws for enforcement of hiring minorities. Of course there will always be minorities. It will change as time goes but there will always be a minority either by sexual orientation, race, culture, etc... The question will be will they need to be protected? They still do now. How long will it take to get all to understand that we are all equal?

The government and the media is the racist of all, Just think about it. "White Americans" , "Black Americans", "Native Americans". Sure there are traditions and customs that should be preserved and cherished, but to give either of them any sort of advantage based on race, it would immediately puts everyone in certain groups and make you feel like you are group of a certain people who either marginalized or either given advantages. Someone has to pay for the other, because taxes come from the working peoples' pockets and when you take away more from one and give it to the other, you just might have created a situation, which could lead to conflicts. Everybody should be treated on an individual basis, not by race or ethnicity. That's why I hate and choose "choose not to answer" those questionnaires on job application forms asking about my race, that just pretty much dominates now, at every job and makes me more suspicious. They will not stop tracking those until statistics become unnecessary. It is not a matter of racists actions it is statistics. Government job is to know how many of one race is in jail, how many of one race lose their job, how many of one race are on foodstamps, how many of one race get welfare, who is buying new homes, who is getting the jobs, who is living where in the country, etc....

I am puzzled whats free besides being poor and sex . and of course speaking . you can't put that in the bank proves it free .We have had a lot of governments that go around the world giving away our money and businesses the think we can live on nothing so they can pay there ores . but we are free . free to starve .every time the rich cause a recesstion the working people have to give up there homes like a bunch of dead beats . then they can't buy another home because there credit is no good . As if they caused the recesstion . yea were free .

so do tell, what do you think makes America "land of the free"? Tell me what makes you be proud being an american living in the land of free? do you feel that we americans really have it all that well? How do you think America differs from 25 yrs ago? I am not debating whether it happened as I was not living in California in 1969. I just think if it happened there was either A) more to it or B) it went on illegally. In any case, my father was an electrician , a black man, and in the union, with many white men during those years. A union that was discriminating to favor the minorities would have been a rare thing, at least in the midwest and on the east coast and in the south,,lol

Land of the free,,,to me means,,slavery ended,,,all citizens are free men and women and we ideally are all 'free' to pursue 'happiness'. Compared to some places, we have much more 'sexual' freedom where the law is concerned and much more freedom to express our opinions as well.Geographically and financially speaking, we are also farely free from any real physical threats of war.

Compared to some places, we have much more 'sexual' freedom where the law is concerned and much more freedom to express our opinions as well.Geographically and financially speaking, we are also farely free from any real physical threats of war. has it ended? the large companies move all thier work to china or other countries so they cn pay them barely nothing to do the work. to move the slavery out of america.to get their own gains.. what about health insurance that was nearly nothing now its sky high? or the companies using the 3 month"try you out' deal, and let u go if they choose so, because they dont pay yo much to tr you out, no insurance etc.. i see many companies that dont keep a one of the "try u outs".. what about jobs that gave many pink slips? and the nes left behind are forced to do 4 peoples jobs all insead of the one full time job they already had with them? what about those who lost their job from being laid off after yrs and yrs that perhaps say has a really bad knee or back.. and because they could no longer afford insurance it is not documented.. their unemployment ran out because there arent that many jobs out there, so now they are getting food stamps from the government<that they paid for working all those yrs> yet they are forced to apply for any job availiable<rather their health can handle the job or not> and if they get hired they are forced to take that job.. land of the free? what ever happened to stakeing your claim on a piece of land.. and just filing for a deed and its yours?.. naw!! the government has to have their share right?

oh and... i never intended this thread to have anything at all about one race compared to another.... for americans to me are all races and religions and sexual preferences.. i did bring up about illegal people being here and them getting to have babies and having our country fork the bill for it... remember all illegals are of different races and backgrounds as well... i was only comparing it to legal americans here having to pay for it yet when they are in the same boat it is not paid for. also i do not understand if someone is here illegally perhaps both parents of the child, how that baby becomes an american? again......... nothing to do with race..

! you give me too much credit ms.button , i am just another teenage boy flexing his pseudo intellectual robustness, all flash no content :P but i agree this is not the land of the "free" but rather land of the privileged, yet still there are many people out there who would gladly their trade rebel insurgency for our taxes lol.
