A lot more nosey people today who think your business should be theirs.

More equal opportunity and workers rights.

The gap between classes was narrower.

Our standard of living compared to the rest of the world was much higher.

No illegal immigrants on the East Coast. Instead we had migrant workers.

Almost all cars on the road were American Made.

No cell phones.

No PlayStation's or X-Box.

No Internet.

Women were real.

Women my age had perkier breasts.

Baby Bush was an idiot. Oh wait that hasn't changed.

Oh yeah,
Americans were innocent until proven guilty.

Almost all the clothes we wore were made in America.

Ciggs were .26 a pack.

Gas was .25 a gallon.

Milk was .05 a pint.

It took 7 DM (German) to make a dollar.

Parents were respected not befriended.

Cops weren't as likely to abuse people. Of course they don't even call it abuse now. They call it their job.

You wouldn't get a ticket for not wearing a seat-belt.

You wouldn't get a ticket fro being a daredevil and ride a bike without a helmut.

You could be rescued without being billed.

Credit Cards weren't given out like candy.

Even with good credit you needed at least a 10% down-payment to buy a house.

Young Americans were willing to do manual labor and start from the bottom.

Piss tests were an invasion of privacy.

You could still find a Virgin over the age of 12.

I still had all my hair.

Men were Men.

NASCAR was racing.

Free Agency didn't exist.

McDonalds still served a real burger and fries.

and i guess what i have gotten tonight that some things dont effect others.. like for instance for me.. being able to smoke a joint or whatever they call them these days does not effect me because i dont do drugs, however if i did.. it would effect me.. but it is all true because it was freeier back then... even with the same as it being illegal back then... such as america did have money to help others that have been helping all along and they dont now.. but my concern is why protray something that really is not?

I was reading yesterday about a young boy being kicked out of school for long hair.
LMAO
If they'd have done that 25 yrs ago there wouldn't have been anyone left in the school.

True, but regarding the negative changes, who is to blame if not the "Americans" themselves?

Freedom is not free, and neither it should be taken granted. Carelesness also plays a role. None of the negative things would have happened (or happening) if the American people wouldn't allow it.

There is no party to blame or any specific group of people, neither the media. If you are angry at politicians, it's you who voted for them, and it's your job to get them out. Ff you are angry of the media, it's you who listen to them, and you have the power to shut them off, if you are angry at the bills or the tax, it's you who allowed to have it passed or didn't complain enough.

The United States Constitution allows everyone for freedom of speech, which is the greatest and most important law every on this planet. It's hard to find another country - even the so called other democratic states and nations - where there is such an amendment as the 1st.

My advice:

USE IT.

This is the first and last line of defense, of the people.

True or not?

id quote u atlantis however... its fantas as well , i think he had his fair share of thrills of quotes of the evening...

this is sooooo true as well... i beleive i see it in society of all americans.. when certain circumstances have arrisin.. it has been easier to do just what is easiest... for i am not angry myself just a bit confused as how it all happened..as i did not allow things like to happen.. in my examples i had quit my job before i got my letter... i would not allow them to use me like that nor not them to allow my health go down further than it did... my boss asked me to write a note of my resignation did i? heck no! why take more of my time to do that when in fact it was the same output in the end? i think not! it is in fact society as u say.. as when all the kids get 30 bucks a week to do dishes.. hummm.. is that not a part of teaching your children how to survive when they are on their own? i called them responsibilities and they were not paid for! however i did make a list with a price of extra things they could have the option to make money from... we were family.. and we worked together as a unit..to help each other.. rather it be your friend spend the night and u did not want to be embarrased because the floor wasnt swept or whatever it was.. it was something small always..ho9wever it was things that had to be done....nothing like a screaming kid to get a horse ride at the store.. ugh that never happened with my kids if they pulled that! it would be when it could be done and certainally not if they were whinnig or screaming about it! ill never forget the time when my oldest daughter asked me to have her friend that was a boy spend the night omg! she was like 11 or 12! just as a friend.. told me well so and so allows this.. i said look here hunny i love you i am here to teach u morals and values.. rather there is anything going on or not this isnt the right thing to do... and i ma be different than other parents are.. but that is ok.. u will see later on.... well later on she comes to me telling me all this stuff about that girl that i did not really want to hear... but she felt lucky that that wasnt her..snd now as a parent she is maybe more picky as me lol! however she has wonderful thoughts and morals of anyway she could and she comes to me and shares and said i see why u did this and that... so i never gave in darn it to society!!! if i dont beleive in the flow i do something about it!

Now that white people are becoming the minority. I think they should change it so they can only hire white people, Like they did for the other minority when I just got out of high school.

Please elaborate, I am only forty and I do not recall a time when any company was ONLY allowed to hire one race. A time when they CHOSE to,, yes, but never a mandate to only hire minorities

i'll elaborate the best i can..

i'm 46, i beleive at one point in time there did need to be a law in effect of a person <of minority> as they called it back then.. i did see places that did only hire back then of a certain race, however like you say what is minority anymore? who knows.. i do beleive that there is a greater mix in america now. i pretty much from what i see anyway.. that since 'made" to mix everyone all together as "human" for the workplace at one time was a good idea.. I feel that no race whatsoever any color or origon should be treated special because of their bloodline.. for all humans should be equal and be hired for their abiliites on the work they preform..i think work visas should be put to a halt though.. for so many americans arent working already.

The government and the media is the racist of all, Just think about it.
"White Americans" , "Black Americans", "Native Americans". Sure there are traditions and customs that should be preserved and cherished, but to give either of them any sort of advantage based on race, it would immediately puts everyone in certain groups and make you feel like you are group of a certain people who either marginalized or either given advantages.
Someone has to pay for the other, because taxes come from the working peoples' pockets and when you take away more from one and give it to the other, you just might have created a situation, which could lead to conflicts. Everybody should be treated on an individual basis, not by race or ethnicity.
That's why I hate and choose "choose not to answer" those questionnaires on job application forms asking about my race, that just pretty much dominates now, at every job and makes me more suspicious.

I think we (America) were on the right track until baby Bush got into office. We got sidelined and cold cocked by him and we have still not recovered.

We are in for a struggle to get back on track. It is going to take a while.
