Further, it's delusional to doubt that nothing exists aside from yourself. It's rational to believe that your five senses are revealing to you the truth.

spidercmb...what I'm saying is that it's delusional to believe that someone you never met exist as absolute truth above your own existence ....

Spidercmb....I seen cars ....have you seen Jesus?

You are moving the target. You have moved on from "the only absolute truth is the existence of yourself to yourself" to "What I've seen is absolute truth".

You've seen cars, but you haven't seen every car. Yet you don't doubt that cars exist that you haven't seen, why is that?

spidercmb...I do not claim that cars that I have not seen as being absolute truth ....when it comes to Jesus you can only claim to know what you read in a book ...the fact that it's in a book does not make it's existence absolute truth....the fact that you read it in a book does makes your existence absolute truth ..but only to you yourself

Okay, I see the problem. You don't know what absolute truth means.

http://www.absolute--truth.com/

"Absolute truth" is defined as inflexible reality: fixed, invariable, unalterable facts.

If something is absolute truth, that means it is the reality. It's not variable to each person, it is an absolute fact about reality.

And I don't claim to only know Jesus through the Bible. Jesus can be experienced by those who are willing to do so.

so it would be safe for me to think you don't exist? I've never met you, i've only read what you've said.

but if you want argue about something you should at least have some foundation in the facts of the argument instead of just whimsy that you thought up in the middle of the night

dismissing the Arian Controversy because you just didnt want to mess with it is ignorance

if you haven't figured it out yet...the foundation that I'm using is the bible ....

you keep harping on the "Arian Controversy" since it's a controversy nothing can come from it that is why you have to debate within the source not outside it

hahahahahahahaha

okie dokie I'm done with this (and all your) threads

the foundation that you are using is the bible? where did the bible come from. Have you the foggiest idea? was sprung fully formed from the loins of Jesus?

nope the "bible" is a collection of documents that were combined pretty much willy nilly by... ?

oh yeah, the Council at Nicea (which isn't in tne bible so you refuse to even look at it but of course they MADE the bible) and a big part of the MAKING of that bible was the "Arian Controversy"

you don't want to dicuss or debate anything you just want to spout your marijuana free association fantasies

I'm outy

There are plenty of people who have never met their mother or father, but they know that they absolutely exist.

It's not delusional to believe that Abraham Lincoln existed, even though I never met him.

Jesus and God are not one singular thing nor are they just a person or thing. They are everything. It gives us an example of this straight up in the bible and tells us Jesus works through people. Eg., Someone helps a puppy or someone in need, that is Jesus right there. He's that little feeling inside of you that tells you this is wrong when you are doing something wrong. And yes it's using metaphors, most the bible is wrote in metaphors.

Cowboy...... only a non-believer would claim that the bible is written in metaphors....it's the same as calling God's word a lie .....if one story in the bible is inaccurate then they all are

exactly who gets to pick and choose which stories are not metaphors...satan perhaps?

It's not metaphors, Jesus talks in parables. For example i could tell you bout a man talking to a rock on the ground. And you would think he was crazy right? Well no it's just me telling you bout me talking to you on this forum in a parable.

Parables and metaphors are the same freaking thing lol. They are a story said in a way of using something else that we can understand and relate to what they are meening so that we understand what they are trying to say.

that's my point...nothing but your own existence can be claimed as absolute truth

You are making a statement of absolute truth, denying the existence of absolute truth. laugh

Seriously, you know that absolute truth exists. 2+2=4 is true for everyone who adds those two numbers together. It's even necessarily true, which means it's true in every possible universe.

You know that cars exist, for instance. To deny absolute truth beyond your own existence is to deny reality, that makes you delusional.
