Can we pose the same questions Winx asked on this photo? We don't even know if the National Anthem had started or had completed on that pic. Had he just raised his hand and lowered it? Just asking because those supporting Obama are now making fun of Bush in that pic. But I guess that's ok it's their opinions. Also, was anyone accusing him of being disrespectful in that picture? Nope noone did.

Not exactly what I said, a closer interpretation was that I was asking you if it was desrepectful though I didn't exactly say that either. And from what I've seen no one else has posed any such question even remotely interpreted.

No one else commented and said Bush was being disrespectful. You assumed others thought that.

WINX - the girl in pink made sure she covered herself - she crossed her heart alright She couldn't remember which is her right side to she did both sides. It reminds me when I used to say to my child, "Your other left."

No one else commented and said Bush was being disrespectful. You assumed others thought that. No I didn't assume others thought that. Read back to the original post by Davey. I had stated that I will show Obama respect when he shows our country respect. So when he posted a pic of Bush not having his hand over his heart IN RESPONSE TO MY COMMENT it is implied that I should hold the same view for Bush.

I found the governments stance on this and if there was a flag present. I watched (and sadly listened to) that video a few times. The flag behind them does not appear to fall into the definition of a real flag though I could be wrong. If they are facing a flag then you are absolutely right he should have had his hand over his heart, according to our government and he should know that. But I can't tell if there is an actual flag present.

The president is the figurehead for this country so to me the flag is synonymous with him. He represents this country in the exact same line as the flag.
