Some hard questions about God and Heaven. I just want people to look at the reality of some of the things people are saying about God.

If you are going to humanize the "God" concept and claim that God is a male humanoid supreme being who "created" the world --- then I have a few questions related to that and I wonder if you have thought about them.

If God is a male humanoid (certainly not a human) does he have male organs? If so, what does he use them for? Does he go to the bathroom with them, or have sex with them? If not why have them? If he does not have them, why call God a HE or a male?

Next:

Okay if God does use his organs to go to to the bathroom, are there toilets in heaven? If there are toilets in heaven are there plumbers and plumbing?

If God uses his sex organs for sex, who does he have sex with. Is there a Mrs God or does he just go around looking for virgins to impregnate all over the universe?

Now I don't mean this to be disrespectful really, these questions come up in my mind when I hear people call God "He." and claim that he is a male.

My point is that some people INSIST that God is a humanoid supreme being and that is where they drop the ball. They just expect you to believe it. They offer no proof at all and they have no answers to practical logical questions that I have presented about this being.

Where does he live? How did he create the world? What does he look like? If he is a man, does he have male organs? If he does, what does he do with them? Does he eat food? Does he go to the bathroom? Does he have a wife or Mate or does he just like virgins?

Don't tell me that God is a male supreme being who looks like a human if you can't think of him in that respect and answer a few questions. (and saying "I don't know" does not cut it.) Of course you "don't know"...but have you ever even thought about these things? If not, why not? Why don't people ask questions? Aren't you curious? Or are you just too terrified to question the awesome authority that spins these stories?

People are always saying "God said this and God said that, and God demands this or that..." How the hell do they know? And who do they think they are kidding?

For me it's all faith. Just that. When I lose a loved one through death I have to believe that God (to me He is a strong male-type) then takes my loved one into His arms and keeps them safe and loved. It's just faith. Can't explain it and never been asked to.

i have struggled with this topic for a while, i aplaud your argument against the hard core belife, but to me

my "god" is just a belife in something

i choose to think that god is a symbol of honest fair equel living

i choose to live a life of careing fairness honesty and love, i dont think of any god, i just belive that to think of there being a heaven is better than the ulternatives. that if we choose to live in a loveing way then its better than the ulternatives

religous or not, i dont care, my belife is personal and unquestionable, if he is a man to me with a willy, so what, as long as its my belife and i dont push it on others as the onlt right belife, what does it matter and who are you to question it

but i do fully understand your point

Exactly! We don't think of Mary as having menstrual periods or people in Heaven falling out of the sky. There is no dirty underwear or dishes to do in Heaven. It's a perfect place held together with faith. Faith is a gift.

While dreaming of a 'perfect place' might bring you peace, and I do understand that, I like to ask these questions mostly of people who insist on pushing their view on others as if they should not be questioned.

If your faith is personal and you are not cramming it down people's throats, I would never put these questions to you. It is for the purpose of trying get people to think more about the nature of their God concept.

For me personally I would like to envision a goddess looking like Halle Berry or Rosalyn Sanchez. It just makes it a much more enjoyable afterthought.laugh

What would interest me is who came up with the word "God" to describe a higher intelligence, supreme energy, or whatever you want to call it these days.

Where does the definition "God" come from. Who invented this word?

I asked before on a thread 272 days ago, but no replylaugh

Of course you don't. You can't!! You don't know where "he" is or what "he" looks like. You would not know God if you bumped into "him," so how could you question "him?"

You say that "God is who he is and what he is." Already you have made him into a male. If you believe that God made man in his own image, then you believe he is a humanoid. It is not God you don't question. It is the authority who has defined him to you as being a male humanoid supreme being. This you apparently accept but do not question.

That's probably a good thing because the church authorities don't like to be questioned about the nature of God. They promote blind faith. They have never seen God either.

God if he/she/it exists is not an entity of flesh like we. If God exists it is not like we portray it (all religions). If God is then he didn't create human in is image but gave us the spark that human needed to start asking question, think, it gave us the ability to ask the Why Where How etc and left us to develop in what we are today.

A god of supreme power does not need what we as human think it does (Adoration, prayers, sacrifices ect) those are human emotions and we used our own understanding of what Higher power humans need and that why humans created religions. Nothing to do with what God desires but what humans think it desires.

rofl

omg, someone else asks those questions! One of my favorite questions to baffle true believers who believe men were created in God's image has long been, "So what does God do with his almighty penis?"

nothing is unquestionable. nothing should be. As to who are we to question, it only requires a modicum of curiousity and logical thought.
