I'm 44, and left my parent's roof the one and only time when I joined the Army at 17.
I'm no master chef, or anything that even rhymes with it, but I survive on my own. It's amazing how fast one guy(me) can go through a loaf of bread.. I have discovered the Art of Wierd Foodology. If it's not thought of as "Normal", then I'll probably try it. Fried balogna sandwiches?? TOO simple. Try taking a can of baked beans, cutting up some hot dogs, add some mushrooms, and stir. Cook in a microwave for about 4 minutes, stirring every minute. Then, when it's hot, top it off with some sun chips, or whatever you have.. Good, cheap bachelor food.. |

Talking to one of the guys at work...figured out that he was getting the brick of Top Ramen noodles and pouring ketchup on the RAW brick o noodles....that was his supper for a long time until I explained how to cook it....Tragic! Although, those raw actually make a great crunchy snack. |

I think cooking may be a vanishing art form. Sad very sad. Especially when all you have to do is follow directions in a cook book or on most packages. Oh well.
Made a 14 lb. turkey today while playing on the computer. Now with the Microwave many easy zap and eat meals and low AC bills. Yea! |

Where do you buy buffalo? I haven't seen that in any of the major food chains? Nor deer meat which is great and great for you.

Buy a blender and throw in fruit, milk, yogurt, ovaltine it's great and it's healthy. If you do not have a blender get one cheap from Craigslist.

But it's not in any of the major chains that I know of. I get it at a little party store that's kinda out in the middle of nowhere. It's like $6.99 a pound here, though. So I don't buy it all that often, but I do buy some when I can afford to. |

Cut the umbilical cord and learn how to cook. I am a better cook than my mom. I feel you pain, but do you seriously want mommy to cook for you. Hummmm don't think it has anything to do with him not being able to cook if he had it read up he is out of work and out of food. My son has been there and yeah he came home for a while till he got on his feet. Even though he has moved out he still comes by to see me and eat lmao. Honestly my son is a great cook taught him well It is always nice to know you have parents or at least someone to go home to when in need. And I must say it does make me proud to know my kids know they can always count on their mom. I was a bit harsh, and yes I understood the op and the thread. But as Krupa said, $20 at the grocery store goes along way for me too. I would rather have mom give me $20 and I'll cook for myself. jmo My mom cooked for me for years, now she likes to go out for dinner. I can't blame her. She taught me well, my sister can feed an army, and it's really good. Thanks mom. She is happy to see me feeding myself well. Unless you have a "Everyone Loves Raymond" mom... |

Ground hamburger/hot dogs/baked beans done up with ketchup, mustard and brown sugar.....all cooked together and served over toast. Cheap and easy and the kids loved it. |

lawl, the post was mostly just a silly joke. But yes, I am out of work, being a bachelor living with a roomate = no food in the fridge... ever. Its all good though, I still know how to feed myself, and I still do. Parents live WAY too far for me to just cruise on over for food, its mostly just me and my roomate fending for ourselves. XD
