They are organized and canvassing door to door and in crowded shopping center parking lots.
My concern;
Going door to door, if you sign it,they have your name, phone number and address.
If you, the dissenter, tell them, no thank you, they have your address.

Everyone is aware, if you ain't for him, you're agin' him. Obviously, if you refuse them, you're against Obama.

What repercussions will befall those who say no? They know where you live.

This is so absurd, the strange thing is that many will provide their personal information.
They already have your personal info.....Voter registration

This communication is not authorized by any candidate nor candidate's committee. Did anyone see that? These are self appointed census takers.

The Democratic National Committee does not have my personal info, nor does Organizing for America.

I don't support any war, unless we are attacked, and Congress declares it. Im not going to go on someones property with a piece of paper asking them to profess their loyalty to anything.

you are right....and the Obama supporters wouldn't like a non-supporter going to their doors either

Ok time to butt back in, but with all due respect I think it's an assumption that we as Obama supporters would be outraged by someone coming to our door from the other side. Why would I be outraged? I guess I don't understand that. If they are from the other side, I would either be in the mood to hear them out, or tell them I am not interested at this time. I just feel an undercurrent of anger in this thread that scares me a bit to be quite honest.

There are things I like about Ron Paul as well, would I listen to his group if they came knocking. Yes I would because there is some interest there. Would I have wanted to hear from McCain and Palin, NO, simply because I disliked the nastiness behind their whole message. But I would not stoop to that level by being a jerk myself.

Look there are angry people on all sides this time around, and there were when Bush came in too. Anger solves nothing but brings more anger on all sides.

I live in a fairly conservative county and if people were ticked off I don't see it. Everyone is going about their business all trying to do their best. None of use are with out some suffering and having to give things up for a while.

I just don't understand the constant hammering this president is getting. We are never going to have a president that everyone is satisfied with, ever.

This kind of "grass roots" movement is a plan to get the people behind Obama to such an extent that he can basically overthrow the current status quo. That might be a good plan too, IF Obama has good intentions and is not just trying to become a dictator. Dictators have to have a lot of support from the people. Presidents of the past who tried to mess with the status quo were simply assassinated.

There are unknown power struggles going on in government all the time that we mere citizens do not know about. We also do not know where this kind of grass roots movement will lead. I am with holding judgment for now, but I don't really trust Obama because of who supports him. (Zionists)

In case you don't know, Obama supporters are also getting him into the world wide web. He has accounts on social networks, twitter, myspace, etc.

Forgive me Rose, I wasn't just referring specifically to your comment, I was just picking up and other comments as well about how they might answer the door. Maybe outrage was too strong a word. I didn't get everything I wanted out of the election either, I just don't see the sense in the daily hammering and the anger that only serves to add to the tension that already exists.

If my republican neighbors who did not vote for Obama are angry they certainly aren't taking it out on me knowing that I supported him. I am grateful for that, as they are I am sure, that I don't bring up Obama at this time.

I just hope all the anger I see on the internet is not an indication that our anger will be the cause of an outright war between Americans.

I don't really know if he handles his twitter account, but his supporters are doing his myspace account. I am following him on twitter and supposedly I can send him a "direct" message.

I wonder if he reads his direct messages? laugh

They aren't related links. One is for volunteers during the election http://obama.3cdn.net/f33182f2a60434cfcf_olm6b1dtc.pdf

and the video http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/pledgecanvasstrainingvideo/
goes with the link about volunteering to canvas for support for the budget. http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/pledgeprojectcanvassguide/

i'm not angry and my sister and her family voted for Obama...not a biggie about that...but i am not happy at all if someone comes to my door to take surveys or whatever. and especially if they think they are going to get personal info about me. these are strangers - nothing more

I don't see this president as trying to get support for that reason, though have some thoughts on the internet connection:

Obama knows the value of the internet as we all do, being a direct conduit to the people where he can discuss ideas and get feedback.

Just as Ron Paul and others are also aware, and have benefitted from it's existence. Does this mean Ron Paul wants to be a dictator? I don't see that in him either. But I got your point Jeaniebean.

I think it's good that our president is up with the times, though again I am still not going to get all I want from this president and never expected to.

Boo, I am always surprised by the fear people have of listening to and trying to understand beliefs that are not in line with their own. They are afraid that if they challenge their foundation they will have nothing solid to stand on. People are actually afraid that they might be swayed. They might have to make a choice between what they have held as true for their whole lives, and something contrary to it. I'm friends with a man that can't even discuss dinosaurs because their very existence would challenge his beliefs. He knows nothing about them because he avoids the conversation.

Many people fear the conversation. And from that fear they weave conspiracy and hatred. It is just as evident on both sides of the political spectrum. In fact it's true across many spectrums... religious, racial, etc.
