I didnt vote for him and have always been a conservative independent but the Republicans had numerous opportunities and blew it. They betrayed their conservative principles and treated the taxpayer money as if it were their own private trust fund I'm willing to give the Democrat philosophy a chance to work and prove that they are not just like the Republicans but with different interest groups maybe they will screw it up too but maybe they wont |

Well, I have a few thoughts to offer. Accept or reject them as you see fit, but please, at least be exposed to what's out there.
1. Bush is the person who started us down the socialist path; I hope Obama will choose to stray away, but this doesn't appear to be consistent with historical patterns. 2. We cannot even blame Bush entirely; this is THE WORST CONGRESS in United States history and our forefathers would be rolling over in their graves if they knew what these people were up to. Ben Franklin, in his speech at the constitutional convention, predicted even then that our system would work until the people became so corrupt as to require a despotic government. 3. Dennis Kucinich, Marcy Kaptur, Ron Paul and Brad Sherman seem to be the only ones who have had both brains and brawn to stand up for what was right. Others in congress began to follow their lead thereafter. Look at what they had to say on the floor of congress. This generation might have a harder time dealing with this but us older folks have been through some hard times and we know more about dealing with it, and hell our parents dealt with more than we did even.
So I am not convinced of the greatness of either party after going through 8 years with Bush, but I will Give Obama at least the chance we all gave Bush. None of us know for a fact what will work, but we can't solve much by being all depressed and negative either, ya know? |
