i have to say that i can't follow him into communism, give me liberty or give me death. i know those words are not within the scope of the new fashions here on this forum, but just call me old fashioned, i'll stick with the liberty any day.

Well, I have a few thoughts to offer. Accept or reject them as you see fit, but please, at least be exposed to what's out there. 1. Bush is the person who started us down the socialist path; I hope Obama will choose to stray away, but this doesn't appear to be consistent with historical patterns. 2. We cannot even blame Bush entirely; this is THE WORST CONGRESS in United States history and our forefathers would be rolling over in their graves if they knew what these people were up to. Ben Franklin, in his speech at the constitutional convention, predicted even then that our system would work until the people became so corrupt as to require a despotic government. 3. Dennis Kucinich, Marcy Kaptur, Ron Paul and Brad Sherman seem to be the only ones who have had both brains and brawn to stand up for what was right. Others in congress began to follow their lead thereafter. Look at what they had to say on the floor of congress. Look folks, we all have a choice here. Do what you need to do to make it through this, or whine and b$tch until you can't stand yourself anymore. I choose to do what I need to do, and I will weather this because I knew it was coming a long time ago. I'm not going to let the media or or anyone else make me afraid of my own shadow. There's lots of people out doing constructive things right now, and more power to them for not letting scare tactics work on them. Wanna call us commies and pinkos, knock yourself out. Doesn't make it so, and doesn't have the affect your looking for either. Don't like Obama, fine then don't listen to him. Think the whole world is coming unglued, then it's very possible you are projecting your own fears on others.. Change is always hard to deal with but anything is better than what Bush put us through.
Remember the illegal war? Remember all the terrorists loving Bush and wanting McCain in office? Remember all the tax cuts to the elite? Remember all the violations to our civil rights in the name of national security? Remember making our country no better than a terrorist nation by torturing? Bush butchered the constitution of these here United States in the name of war. How can anyone forget that? Obama has a lot of reversing to do and he has a great mess to clean up. As for the commie comments which are really uncalled for, this nation will never see communinism nor will it be a socialist nation so that is fearmongering or worse hatemongering at it's best. |

No one has produced any real facts here to know what the truth is, only hearsay and the twisting of historical facts by one group or another. Anyone can twist the truth to suite what they believe, doesn't make it true and if you want people to listen, the best way is certainly not by calling them names first. |
