so, even if you have no real knowledge of policies and politics, they value your opinion? an opinion no less, that isn't based on all of the facts that are at their fingertips? do you really believe that your are their moral police?

huh

Do you?

i know more than you do.

I remember those days, don't you Winx? When we were young and fresh and thought we knew it all?

I am so glad that I don't have that problem anymore.

I don't have that problem anymore. But..I'm still young and fresh.bigsmile I like to look at both sides of things now.

my dear, i was one of the "chicken littles" when bush first got into office. no one believed me when i told them that he was going to be bad for our country. in fact, i had to be bombarded with bush/cheney stickers for all of those years. i waited patiently for everyone to come to their senses and let me tell you, it was excruciating. everyone told me that i didn't know what i was talking about. now i can look at all of the people that told me that and say "i told you so"

Drivinmenutz,

I believe that it's going to take baby steps. We already took a baby step when Obama got elected. More baby steps will be coming.

I wish with all my heart you are right on this one. However i strongly doubt Obama's getting elected was any sort of step.

I know i'm reading into this, but the bad thing is everyone agrees the government pretty much owns the media.

It's an organization called the Councel on Foreign Relations or CFR. Almost every federal reserve chairman gets a seat on it, as do memebers of just about every media organization known to the U.S. It was founded in 1917 for the purpose of controling the media.

Go here if you feel like researching www.cfr.org

Look at the staff. Anyways, the funny thing i noticed, aside from the striking similarities between Bush, McCain, and Obama, when it came to their plans, was when you went to this page it posted links to Obama's site, and none other. This was during the campaign...

The media made McCain out to be old, feeble, and inept, too much like bush. They also made Obama out to be young, idealistic, and a tragic victim of right wing media bashing.

I think there is something to this. I honestly don't trust the system and i won't. I can't until it proves to me otherwise. So far i see him taking almost every step Bush took. This is what i see. A pattern of the same, Bush sr., Clinton, Bush Jr., and Obama.

These are my strong doubts, but as a reminder, i do honestly, with all my heart, hope you are right.

the patterns suggest she isn't right, they suggest she is just optimistic in her view, which can be a good thing and it can be a bad thing.

Wow, ok, i admit i haven't been on their homepage for a while. Used to have a list of their staff memebers under a "Staff" tab. Had names like Tom Brokaw on there for everyone to see.

They also had links to friendly websites. A few were news sites, then there was Obama's campaign webpage and and another promotional site for him. They didn't have one for McCain, or any other candidate.

Looks like they changed things around a bit...

If you want to learn about CFR you can find lots of information in a book called "Tragety and Hope", by Corral Quigely (Carrol was one of the founders of the organization).

Saw the title and thought it must be some kind of history lesson. Then read enough of the OP to see that it was about pres hussein, and thought "OH HELL NO, THAT SCUM BAG IS NOT MY PRESIDENT!!!!!!" I do not support him in any way, and don't have to wish for him to fail, as he is already going down the toilet in record time, just wish for him being gone, no matter how it happens. Would rather see him dead than all the people it seems he wants to kill. All this about more wars here and there, and martial law at home. Declaring war on your own people? Yeah right, some f*cked up "representative" if you ask me.
