Friend of mine sent me this in an email. As you can tell, he's pretty frustrated. Opinions anyone?


I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes, and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to earn that pay check, I work on a rig site for a construction project. At any time I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.

HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Understand - I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their butt, drink beer and smoke dope.

Could you imagine how much money this country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

If you agree, please pass this along, or simply ignore it if you don't. Hope you will pass it along though, because something has to change in this country.

I will say there are people on welfare that use it to get back on their feet but most of the people I know on it....it's a career. they go out and party with the money or spend it on things they don't need...like fake nails etc.

I don't mind my taxes helping people that are legit....but i don't want to support anyone just because they can't get off their butts. My aunt is one of them and would move state to state when the welfare ran out

Here is my chance to show you that you won't always agree with me. Sorry, I am a straight shooter, I won't sugar coat it for nothing.

Point 1:

Those who use welfare to get back on their feet, should use their savings that they put away for a day like this, a rainy day. Instead, they were dancing all summer. Now that winter has come, they need someone else savings.

Point 2:

You are (any anyone else) free to help anyone you wish privately, if you feel that these people need money. Why should we take money by force from everyone? Thanks but, no thanks! I'd rather save for a rainy day then feed those who couldn't care less.

You can not do that anymore. The most a person can collect welfare and not work is 36 months. If they work the required hours, then the months won't count against them.

Well, here is the rub. Some people need it and deserve it, and everyone around them knows it.

Public assistance use to be a private thing, administered through a church or privately. That way, you want to make sure you have a good name and you threat people right. When you're in dire straights, many will come to help you.

Enter the government crapola. Everyone is taxed to help the poor, consequently, everyone's funds are depleted even before there is a chance to help someone. What is the better way to make sure people can't afford to help people then to reduce their available funds?

Secondly, with government assistance in place, we don't know who we help. Beautiful soul that is seriously down on it's luck is lumped together with a beast who wouldn't care of others.

I have long held this view: if one is not a good person, he doesn't deserve any help. Government teaches us otherwise, that everyone deserves help. It is no different than to say everyone deserves to be on the death row. Lumping people together without second look, making us all sheeps, making good people weaker and bad people stronger, this is the primary goal of the government then.

This is an easy one, Winx. None. Zero money.

If you want to receive the dope check, you have to pay for the test out of that same check.

I would add some more tests to it.

the states have different welfare regulations. and like i said...she goes state to state. people get on disability alot to get money also and they have nothing wrong with them

Not everybody can afford to have a savings. Many people are barely making it from paycheck to paycheck. Some people that had savings no longer have that money due to medical catastrophes.

She shouldn't be able to they are running it that way now. Things have changed and no one no matter the state is allowed to have longer than 36 months. The months started when the law passed on it and it is the whole US and that rule in particular is not different per state. You are able to make anonymous reports too. Each state is able to run their benefits on different rules, but certain rules pertain to every state. that is one of them.

so do you like the money you earn being spent by someone eles whos buying cigs, beer, weed, and flat screen tvs with it?
