Since I am an atheist, I will not try to "explain" any part of the bible. In my own opinion, either the bible is a holy book, and every passage is supposed to be taken literally, or you're not supposed to take any of it literally, in which case it would be a great work of fiction, given the amount of people that believe it.
When it comes to faith it's not about quantity it's about quality.


That is missing my point, that being, either every word needs to be taken literally, or none of them should be. If the book is supposed to be "holy" then either it's all holy, or none of it is. There should be no picking and choosing.




That is a very limited view of God when there is also His very nature toward us of love & great helps & wonders. I am so sorry that some here are so stuck in their dogma they miss the greater glory.

I won't fight with that sort of small mindedness. I think you are stuck in your own persecution when you refuse to see it God's way.


And its so much easier as well as self inflating to claim god is on your side. Then you don't have to justify anything god said so is always enough . . .
